    Canned dog food recipe

    Hi,

Somewhere I read where you can make dog treats out of canned dog food. I think you bake it in the oven. Does anyone have that recipe?

    Thanks!!

I had that recipe too. It got something on it and got thrown away! I know it had canned dog food and whole wheat flour. You just mix it together until it forms a blob. Then you roll it out and cut it into whatever shapes you want. I think you bake it at 350. It will be a little hard but a little chewy when done. I added peanut butter sometimes as an extra treat for my sweeties!

audkal- I don't know if I ever thanked you for that recipe but it was the first homemade treat my boy would eat!
I used to be Luff_My_Pete but I changed usernames since I changed my pup's name! (I know it isn't good to change dog's names but he was confusing go pee and pete)

No way! [:)] That's cool that he'll finally eat these, and you're very welcome! That's funny about switching the dog names. Was it hard making that transition?

I'm glad that your dog liked them too mady! I was thinking of making them tonight and using a can of Solid Gold's Tripe, which I never tried yet. I was also going to try baking them longer but at 200 degrees (instead of 350), and see if they become crunchy.
