    What is Rally?

I have slacked off in Chow's training durning the winter and I really need to do something to get back on track. He has his GCG and good house manners but outside I have trouble getting his attention and it's like I have to start all over.
I found a local club that offers outside classes but I don't know
which one to take.  I don't think he would be good at agility because he doesn't like to run, fetch, or do anything that involves jumping.
They state that they do not offer "non-regular classes, only titled classes".  What does this mean?  Can a mutt join?  Is it fun?
If anyone taken Rally can you please give me some suggestions?
I have pulled the exercise list from the AKC website but I can't figure out how it all works.
    Thank you,
    Nic

Rally is a combination of some obedience behaviors and some agility behaviors.  It can be a pre-event activity for those more precise disciplines.  It is more relaxed in its scoring and in its interaction in the ring,  you can talk to your dog, repeat commands etc.  It is more relaxed over all.

A mixed breed dog is often welcome in classes but not allowed to compete in AKC without an ILP, you get the dog registered as what it "looks like" by completing a form, sending in pics and having a ver sign off the animal has been spayed or neutered.

If you want to complete with a mixed breed UKC is your best bet.  You need to register, very similar to the procedures for AKC.

Rally is a lot of fun!! In Canada the main group is CARO and they will accept anyone - not just purebred dogs.

It's nice to get your feet wet - you can carry treats, encourage and praise your dog and it's very relaxed.
