    Puppies on Sheep!

My 6 month old Border Collie Puppy, Nick, along with two of his littermates (Pip and Phoebe) and brookcove's Ted (two weeks younger) all participated in a clinic this past weekend with Jack Knox. Here are a few pics from the clinic I thought you all would enjoy!

Awesome! I always love seeing your & Brookecove's pics of dogs at work.

Thanks! It was a great clinic, and it was so cool to watch the puppies. June came to me as an adult (with some training already on her), so I missed all of this fun stuff!

Thanks for posting those! Next time I'll get some action shots of all the puppies. I love looking at this thing and looking at the interaction between Jack, Ted, and the sheep.

I love the slideshows Becca! They do showcase the interaction between Jack, Ted, and the sheep very well! I learned so much watching Jack with the puppies. It was even more interesting to me that all four of the puppies were serious about working, thinking, and were handling correction and small pressures so well. After watching Jack with other dogs for the first time I was so intrigued at how different this was. I still get chill bumps thinking about it.

BTW - Rachel got pics with Julie's camera that included pretty much the whole ring. That will be interesting to see!!

I think he was really on his game this weekend. I'm watching this slideshow remembering how he took me through what he was doing (for the millionth time [8|] ), but this time he'd point and say, "There's his tail - we're going THERE. There's the ground we don't want him to go to, we're going THERE!" I tried it with Cord today and it worked - I remembered!! YAY!

I'm going to "break" some more of these sheep for us to have puppy play days!

Jackie the lamb is doing terrific.

Wow great pictures! How did the clinic go? You sure had good weather. Those dogs look awesome! So intense.

    Thanks for sharing those,

Linda, from a spectator/participant standpoint I thought it went great! The new fencing and fields were GREAT, the sheep were on their best behavior, the food was fantastic, Becca and Patrick gracious hosts (as always), and Jack was wonderful as usual!

I learned a ton at this clinic. I got affirmation that June has pretty much reached her potential, and that I should continue on with Nick. June is going to start agility in the spring, and Nick will keep on with his training on sheep. I'm so grateful for June though, because she has taught me so much - making it easier to grasp what I'm doing with Nick. I'll still give her some work from time to time, but the pressure is off of her now, and I think she'll be perfectly happy. She actually worked so nice this weekend, too. It was a great last hurrah, I thought.

I was super pleased with Nick, and all of the puppies. I know it's hard to tell at this age, but I thought they did great. It was neat to watch the four of them - different styles, and such. Very, VERY cool.

Great pictures you two!  NIck is such a cutie!!!  All the dogs are beautiful and I truly do love to see that BC crouch.  Makes my heart go pitter patter.  heh...  I'm a sucker for BC's, can't help it.

I saw my little guy do a slink crouch the other day.  I was mystified!!!
