Feeding Guidelines for Natural Balance

I just recently switched my 8 pd min pin from Innova to Natural Balance. I threw the bag away not thinking that I should maybe read the feeding guidelines. She seems like to eat more of the Natural Balance and looks a little chubby now. I feed her twice a day... how much should I give her? Along those same lines, she is crated during the day and will not eat until I get home at 3:00. Then she eats her food and I fill it up with the second portion in the evening. Is this not good? Should I just give her her whole portion in the evening? Also, how many bowel movements are normal for a dog her size? Between yesterday at 3:00 pm to this morning at 5:00 am, she had 7. Until we switched food, she only had 2-3? Now yesterday she had her anal gland expressed.. and I am thinking that made her go more because she went twice within 10 mins of having it done. Any help or suggestions?

You can find the feeding amounts on their website. Hopefully that will help somewhat.

It says 5-15 pds= 1/2-1 cup a day

No problem. Keep in mind that very often the feeding recommendations are higher than what many dogs need (at least in my experience). You might try the recommended amount for a little while and see how it goes. My labs would be very overweight though if I fed what they recommend.

If you are overfeeding her she will poop more; also, if you didn't change foods gradually, taking about a week, that may be the reason for the extra poops.
