    canidae makes dry coat?

hi all, i heard that canidae dog food makes dry coat, is that true? both of  my dogs are on canidae right now, but my golden retriever did have dry coat in winter time, so i am wondering it is the problem of canidae or 'coz the winter time, most of the dogs' coat is a little bit dry. so far, i add seal oil to their food, it works a lot, his coat is getting shinny. so any idea on it?

I'm not sure about goldens, but with labs, Canidae doesn't really have enough fat to "maintain" a proper lab coat.  All depends on the dog.

From what I've read, ALL commercial and prepared diets are pretty severely lacking in Omega 3s, and all pets, and people need an Omega 3 supplement. Of course, which oil works best depends on the species and the individual. My dogs and I do much better when we have Omega 3s added to our food. I take flax seed oil. They get fish oil.

I have fed my GSDs Canidae before and quite honestly never noticed a difference at all.. but I also have always supplemented with Fish and or Flax oil... I think its a great food..... so if you like the food and your dogs do well on it... go ahead and supplement with a good oil.. either human or canine... ive use both

thanks very much for all the post, both of my dogs are doing really good on canidae, so i dont really wanna switch them to another premium brand. i already added arctic marine oil to their food, hope my golden's coat is getting much better than before.

Mine don't seem to be having any coat probs on Canidae. I also give them Derm Caps each day, and sardines or Jack Mackeral 2 x a week.
