    feeding from 3 to 2 x's a day

I have a 4 month old Corgi.  I have been feeding him 3 times a day (6am, 12pm, 7pm roughly).  Now he doesn't seem interested in the lunch time feeding.  If I sit there and make him eat, he will nibble a little bit, but nothing like when he eats breakfast and dinner.  He gets a walk before breakfast, one before lunch, and major excersize/playtime before dinner, and a little walk before bed time.  I feed 1/2 cup at each serving (1.5 cups per day) of EP holistic.  He gets a few frozen greenbeans after dinner.  Is it OK for me to omit the lunch time meal and just feed him 3/4cup for breakfast and 3/4 for dinner?  Should I wait until he is 6 months before going to two meals a day?  Thanks.

Most may recomend 3 x a day feeding which is best until 5-6 months if you can but with the way I work its not possible for me. I feed 2x daily with a snack at lunch instead of a meal and ours have done fine.
    Good luck.

The same thing happened with my puppy around that age (I actually posted about it here - it was so frustrating to try to get her to eat!) and the problem was solved when I switched to feeding her twice a day instead.  I didn't even really have to worry about only leaving the bowl down for 20 minutes because she ate it all right away anyway.   Now she usually gets a chicken neck after her lunchtime run in the park, but not a full meal.

we let our puppy choose when to discountinue the mid-day meal. much like your dog he pretty much lost interest. so we just stopped. now we just split his meals into morning and evening (ie. half his daily recommendations twice a day).

I have always fed Lizzie twice a day, if I feed her 3x's she will just scrounge through the food so I just feed her twice so she eats everything in her bowl. Sometime I will add a small meal of Raw (2 chicken thighs or legs, or maybe a few wings) but not actually  a whole meal. She has been doing great, shes not starving but she definately looks forward to her meals

OK, cool. I will feed Darwin twice a day and just throw a few kibble to him for lunch.  Thanks for all your responses.
