Rotating foods for Nutrition

I have read a few posts that said food should be rotated in case the dog is not getting all he needs form one or the other.  Do the bags/cans say they are 100% balanced in nutrients?  If so, why do you not believe it?  If not, why do you use it?

When we moved in here our neighbor;s Mom was on several different meds.  She could not afford to buy a months supply of each every month.  So she alternated to make 30 tabs of each last 60 days.  She knew she was not getting what she needed but figured some was better than none.  For instacne she would take her blood pressure pill one day, her depression pill the next, the blood pressure the next, etc.  All her meds were rotated like this--until she started going to Mexico and getting 3 months of meds for what it cost her for one months here, and she could take them ever day and was much healthier for it.

Well, it occured to me if something is missing out of one and found in another, and food is being rotated, dogs are only getting half of what they need of those certain mutrients.  I am not sure the Purina I feed my dogs is as balanced as they claim and i give them an vitamin, fish oil, and esterC on the side just to be sure----as i take viatmins myself to be sure.  Probabably since all our dogs have lived long and healthy lives on Purina, it is what it claims.  I just  always tend to doubt when it comes to money---and make no mistake, not one dog food company is in it just for the dogs, they are in it to make money.

I do not rotate ;Purina unless it is for a specific reason--Scince diet for a few months for KayBee to lose weight, SD k/d now for Buck until we know his kidneys are back to normal. after the infection..  However, I do rotate fish and meat and veggies.  They get fresh caught/baked  or canned mackeral or salmon 4 nights a week with the unsalted canned carrots and green beans, and the other 3 nights varied meat--chicken hearts cooked with squash & white potatoe two nights ago.  Last night was salmon with carrots and beans. Tonight we are all going to have calf liver--mine done with onion, theirs boiled with white potato and frozen green peas.  Soemtimes i will give them scrambled eggs or cottage cheese, maybe both, or applesauce in with their breakfast.  I don't know if you can call this roating food or not, but I am counting on the Purina and the vitamins to do the work, the other is just because they like it and I do know it will not harm them.
