Who feeds Solid Gold Green Cow or Tripett ?

I can't get fresh tripe anywhere around where I live so I bought some Solid Gold Green Cow beef tripe. My dogs absolutely LOVE the stuff but WHEW ! does it STINK !!!  Then it makes the whole house stink and their breath just horrid.  Is Tripett any better as far as the smell goes ????  Does anyone have a problem w/their dogs getting gas from eating it ??

Haha, I feed the Solid Gold, and P.U. But the dogs think its nectar of the gods, so I just turn my head and fork it over. I tell ya, there's nothing that staves off the morning hungries like green tripe or sardines. ;)

I feed Green Cow, but I wouldn't if I could get Tripett. Green Cow has a lot of stuff added that Tripett does not.

I've been banned from feeding it when BF is home… it really makes him gag.

I feed Green Cow--smells nasty, Sally would do backflips for it.....

[:'(]Oh don't remind me of Green Cow! It gave Bruno horrible gas AND breath. Also his stool was very loose, Solid Gold did the same thing. But I've seen that every dog reacts differently.

I use Tripett New Zealand Lamb tripe. The additives are fish oil, garlic, glucosamine, and chondriotin. The dogs LOVE it. I can barely stomach the smell. I get it at the health food store. It's about the same price as shipping it.

I haven't gotten to the canned tripe but use the not so bad smelling Dr. Harvey's power patties, which are freeze-dried raw green tripe. My dog just loves it.

I have also used the Dr. Harveys. I don't find the smell bad at all. I will usually soak them in some warm water and mix them in with the kibble. They gobble it up very quickly!

That smelly Green Cow is a favorite here too! [:'(] Even the cats came running over when I open those cans.. and they don't like Boss much, but will come over to catch a whiff of that stuff.

I'd like to use the Tripett w/duck but I can't even find it around here and I'm sure the heck not paying $40 a case plus sh ipping.  I can get the Green Cow on eBay for $17.99 case and it's only $15 to ship 2 cases , so that makes it only $1.06/can which is a steal.  I paid $1.59 a can for it at Pet Supplies Plus. I divvy up ONE can between 4 dogs. I only use it so they'll eat their kibble instead of letting it sit there half the day. It's pretty much a 'treat' for them. I could never afford to actually use it as 'food'. I saw the Dr. Harveys patties but they're pretty expensive for only 3oz.  I'd go broke feeding those to 4 dogs.

I only use it as something I add to kibble too. Neither one of mine will eat dry kibble, so they always get a can of something mixed in. I don't use the whole can at once meal though.. one can per day between the two meals.

Oh, we could split a case!

But I can only use the lamb tripe, b/c the beef is partially grain fed....

Just a thought. It's neat to know that somebody's within driving distance.

Well, Glenda USED to be within driving distance, but she moved to the Great White North.....

I feed the Solid Gold - like others, from convenience not choice.   The Tripett does look a lot better and I do wish I could get it locally.  I give three to four Tbsp per dog with their "cereal" meal, except for Ben who gets three quarters to half a can each day.

Went to the pet store yesterday and I ALMOST bought a can of this, as I sure it is great for dogs, but you all came to mind, the smell, oh I don't know if I could handle the smell so it stayed on the shelf...LOL![:D]
