    Red meat EVO - when?

Has anybody heard anything on when the new EVO product is due out?  Any news on ingredients?

I've been using the Evo 95% Beef canned for a couple of weeks now.  Willow really likes it.  They've also got Duck, Rabbit, Turkey/Chicken and Venison, all cans as far as I've seen.

I haven't seen the kibble yet.  But, based on those ingredients we won't be buying it.  I've never understood this company putting so many ingredients in one food, beef, lamb, venison and buffalo!  All in one food??  My dog would be in the hospital if she ate that.

We got our first shipment of the new products in at our store yesterday and tried the beef and rabbit cans on our own kids last night. The food really smells good and they loved it.

Great - thanks for the info!  I'll need to check and see re the cans being available in my area.  As to the dry, the buffalo and venison are pretty far down the ingredient list, so it's mainly beef and lamb, which is fine as I can get buffalo and elk kibble from other sources (TWO and SG).

I don't know, they are listed 7th and 9th out of 20 or so initial ingredients.  Now, to ME, that's not far down the list.  It seems like a nice food, but I think they overdid it with all the different protein sources.

The beef canned food does smell and look really nice.  Willow is liking it and she's very fussy.  It seems like it's high in fat, you can see the fat.  Maybe if I post the % someone can tell me, I don't know how to convert.

I wish they hadn't combined the turkey and chicken into one canned.  She can't have chicken but eats turkey all the time.

From a previous post by Jessies_Mom:

For example, if a kibble was 9% fat, assuming the moisture was 10%, you would divide 9% by 90 which is the reciprocal of 10; so with the moisture removed the kibble is 10% fat.  If the canned food says 5% fat on the label, you divide 5% by 20 which is the reciprocal of 80 and get 25% fat.

Now I changed the canned percentages to reflect EVO Beef canned:

7% fat on the label, you divide 7% by 22 which is the reciprocal of 78 and get ~32% fat.

Is that pretty high compared to most canned?  I only feed the bland i/d and it's light so I don't have a good way to compare.

Here is the response I got from Natura on 5/26. I know some people have gotten it already so I would check with where you buy and make sure they have ordered it.  Hope this helps!

    Dear Sarah,

Thank you for contacting Natura Pet Products. The distributors are just now ordering the new flavors, so, I would say they should be available to the public in a few more weeks. You should ask the two retailers in Fort Worth if they placed an order for the Red Meat.

We do not encourage Internet Sales therefore we do not keep a separate listing of who sells our products on the Internet. We prefer our customers go into their local independent retail store where they can review date codes for freshness, get the added knowledge of the store staff about our products, plus make a savings by avoiding the shipping cost. Any online place you find that has our product, will not be an authorized Natura dealer.

So, I hope this helps! If you have any other questions or concerns, please get back in touch!

    Best regards,

    Tammy Illges

7% fat at 78% moisture isn't high at all - in fact it's just slightly above average (which is about 5%).
