Soft Kibble?

    Soft Kibble?

My little toy poodle eats Innova canned food.  I have yet to find a kibble that she likes enough to snack on here and there, she doesn't seem to like chewing the hard kibble.

Are there any high quality kibbles that are of the moist/soft type?

I don't know of any semi-moist kibbles, but you could always buy regular kibble and soak it in hot water for a few minutes before serving. It gets soft and squishy.

A company called ziwipeak do a "kibble" that looks like a treat, you can break it apart easily and sounds perfect for your dog.
Sorry i dont have a website, try googling it.

She might like Natural Balance rolls, but they're kind of sugary for meal consumption. They *are* a balanced dog food, but..... they're like doggy crack. They're sweet tasting, and most will do anything for them;)

My toy Poodle loves it when I sook his dry kibble in warm water.  I just let it sit for about a minute, and drain the water off of it, and he gobbles it down.

Ziwi Peak's website is http://www.ziwipeak.com/ and the list of ingredients for the dry food can be found at http://www.barkerybath.com/closeup.asp?cid=4&pid=144&offset=1.

You can also try the Country Pet food rolls. Details are at http://shopping.netsuite.com/countrypet.

Another vote for Ziwi Peak ~ No grains, fillers, colours or preservatives.
A decent home grown food.... for me anyway[:D]

I have been feeding it for a few weeks now. My dog loves it and the treats the same company make..

Royal Canin supposedly makes really palatable foods for picky dogs and there is also one that has a softer texture.

Innova has a small bite kibble, and they are tiny squares, a bit bigger than a pencil eraser and pretty thin and flat. My neighbor dog that I am baby sitting eats it.

Soaking is also a good recommendation.

I'm curious about the ZiwiPeak food.  The ingredients sound wonderful, but it seems terribly expensive.  I'm guessing you don't need to feed as much as a regular kibble?  Can anyone give me an idea of how long one bag would last a 50 lb. dog?

The ingredients do sound fantastic, but I certainly can't afford $10/lb. I have two small dogs, and feed two pounds of food a DAY.

I think this is a very concentrated food,i doubt you would have feed a whole lb to  a small dog? Jennie when you fed dry food did you give your dogs a pound each? How much is that in cups?

Edie, they don't get a pound each. Teenie gets just under 1/2 pound (which is a normal sized amount), and Emma gets just over 1 1/2 pounds (which is enough for... oh, a 50 pound dog). On dry food, Teenie ate 3/4 cup, and Emma ate like 5. She was waaayyy too skinny. She's eating LESS fresh food, and she's fatter. She doesn't do well at all with kibble, as her main source of nutrition. I do use it, for treats some.
