    Dog sweat cause less urine

Does dog sweat in hot weather? I am living in CA, my dog is a Pekingese.  He has long and thick hair.  Now the weather is really like summer in daytime.  My dog won't have that much pee in this few days.  Will it be caused by sweating?  Where do they sweat from?  Any one knows?  Thanks.

Dogs don't sweat like people do.  They expel heat through the pads of their feet and through panting.  If your dog isn't peeing as much as normal, he likely has a UTI and needs to see the vet.

Yes, of course, I'm sorry.  Urinary Tract Infection.  This will cause more or less peeing and needs to be checked out.

Thank you very much. I'll check with my vet.

Is your dog drinking a normal (for him) amount of water and just not peeing it back out?   I ask because my Bubblegum does not pee a lot, but does not drink a lot on a normal day.  I put water in her kibble just to make sure she gets water. After a walk or being outside playing she does drink but just around the house does not.  Ollie, my sons dog, on the other hand is peeing all the time, but then he is constantly at his water bowl drinking.    He always has been like that so nothing is wrong with him.

Does he do markings when you walk him outside?  If he marks/pees frequently during his walks like my boy ( you know who ) he may pees less when in the house.

Hi dyan & oylin, thanks for your reply.  Since there is no more raining here, I walk my boy every morning.  I think he knows and he doesn't like peeing indoor.  So he just saves it and have it done outdoor.  When I walk him he pees at every spot until nothing out.  Dyan, he just like your dog, doesn't drink a lot around the house except after walking.  So I think he is fine.

Yep. Sounds like he is fine!
