Do you feed more then one type of kibble?

Do you feed more then one type of kibble?  Do you combine two types or flavors?

I rotate among several types of dog food every few months. Sometimes they are different brands, sometimes different flavors of the same brand. I don't mix brands unless I am gradually switching from one to another.

I think it's good because it provides variety for my dog and lessens the chance for a long-term nutrient imbalance. I am also lucky that my dog eats just about anything and tolerates the better foods very well. I know others on this board have more sensitive dogs and they stick to what works for them.

I do the same as Cheryl.

I feed two different brands one for each dog. *sigh*  I can't seem to find one that works for both...

I switch every few months.  Primarily I use Frozen Bil-Jac (no flames please, it works for us), dry Bil-Jac, and PetGuard Lifespan.  These have worked the best for all 3 dogs. California natural they digest ok but their coat ends up looking terrible, so I started excluding it from my rotation. I've tried many many others that I just wasn't happy with.

I also make homemade doggy meatloaf, toss a raw wing, and some fruits and veggies from time to time.  I'm not much for leftovers myself, so sometimes they get leftover roast and potatoes and such.

I'm struggling with choosing the right dog food for my Labrador Retrievers and I wondered whether you could rotate food every few months.  I'm sure they get bored of brands, however wasn't sure if I rotated foods would it upset the dog's stomach?  Do you go back and forth with the same types of dog foods, meaning you only use a couple that you rotate?  I'm in Canada, however was wondering if anyone had suggestions for a good dog food for my Labrador Retrievers.  I want to make sure they are getting proper nutrition and the more I read some of the labels for dog foods ....I'm shocked at the ingredients.

I hadn't really thought of rotating the dog food every few months for nutritent, thank you very much for the advice.  I would like to try switching their dog food more often as they do get bored with it.

Any advice on the best dog food brands, so hard to choose

We switch between Canidae and T.O. with good results for their morning meal.  I also give them home-cooked for dinner   But our puppy is doing so well on Innova puppy we are planning to try the Innova adult next.

...And by "switching" I really mean we rotate foods about every 3 months.
