Hi, I have a dog who gets very car sick :( I heard that Natural Ginger helps is this right? do you know how much it would be safe to give a 12 keilo bordercollie cross? If you could help would really appreciate as we have to travel in the next few days.

Ginger is good for settling the stomach. I often grate a bit of the root over my dogs raw food..and on the rare occasion I give dry kibble I always do. I also add a bit of mint to it.
Are you giving a liquid? grated root?

I did a quick search and I think this will be really helpful for you. I think you will find your answer by scrolling down to the "TIPS" section...but it looks to me like the whole article will be really helpful. Good luck =)

Petco has herbal pills and drops for travel sickness that contain ginger and valerian root. I tried the pills for Akiko and had so-so results. I don't know about dosages for raw ginger.

One more thing- a lady at Petco told me that she used children's dramamine on her car sick dog and it worked well. I don't know about the safety of this though...

I know this is an old thread, but I've just seen it.  I use candied/crystallized ginger for myself. It really works very well. The sugar helps to soothe the stomach too.
