I pulled this off of the American Nutrition Website regarding the recall right above all of the recalled brands that they produce. What exactly does this statement mean???

No American Nutrition brands or other products they manufacture for other businesses are affected by this recall

    This doesn't make any sense[>:]

How sad... Mulligan's site hasn't been updated and they have this statement on there: "It is our strong commitment to provide the healthiest and most natural pet food available on the market today. Our manufacturer, American Nutrition in Utah, www.anibrands.com, produces quality pet foods made with reliable ingredients from quality sources. Their Vendor Assurance Program sets high standards which all vendors must meet. And their clean and sanitary facility insures quality all the way down the line."

They're saying that THEIR brands, (Atta Boy Dry and Canned, Atta Cat Dry, Basic Plus Dog & Cat Dry, Maintain Chunks, Vita Bone Biscuits, Vita Snacks), are not affected.

Because they probably were when they sold it to us and they probably ARE now that the buyers have been caught.

I don't think the slave labor sector is laughing too hard...when they figured out who messed up and this will cost some business.  I don't think they take matters like this very lightly when it comes to business.  If your a slave worker your life is at stake for any error, costly or not.

I'm not sure the slave labor even knows what is going on, they were probably following instructions, doing their job.  The company heads though,,,this is a different story. This was more than one ingredient and it came from more than one place. It sure seems that someone knew what they were doing. China wouldn't even let us in to try to figure out where the problem lies.

I just flat out hate when my gut is right.  The very first recall triggered alarms with me and I KNEW this was going to go industry wide and be HUGE.  I hate that.

Bottom line here folks is that pets are sickening and dying.  But, also thousands of people are going to loose their livlihoods because of corporate greed.  And you can bet that MOST of them will be here on American soil.  The Chinese will just find some other sucker to peddle their tainted wares to......

I am soooo glad that I have too many dogs to afford canned.  I am soooo glad that I've been homecooking for years and have some feelings of safety about what I cook.....

Oh no [:o]    Why would they even add to this type of product - it didn't even need anything to be added to begin with.

I started an elimination diet for my girl last fall using canned rabbit and water bought from Wysong, but now I know it was made by Menu Foods.  I couldn't get her to gain weight, and I got so many dented cans and cans that were not safe to use b/c there was so little product in the can before sealing, that I quit using it early March.  Really bas quality control, IMO, and this was just before the fallout.    I think she's o.k., tho, b/c we just did our yearly with a urine culture, so I am sure they would have seen the crysals if they were in there.  And, I'm guessing that Menu didn't add it to their single protein source canned or I think they would have discovered it by now.  But, my vet could have easily had me using the beaver produced by American Nutrition.  And, I considered using this product  to put weight on my guys after Rebecca talked about how many calories were in a can.  Oh, no.  Brookcove has used it with Ben.

Oh man, there isn't any labels you can trust.
