    Odd Discovery

I just discovered that my dog loves asparagus.

We had some for supper for the first time since Sierra's been around (a long time!) so I gave her a piece. She was unsure of it at first and took a LONG time to chew, but once she swallowed it, she started following me around for more! And now she won't leave me alone, she just wants more asparagus!

I did a search but came up with nothing. I don't believe this is the case, but is there anything that should discourage me from giving this to her?

I also searched and came up with zero.  It's not on any of the lists for foods to avoid.  I guess if she enjoys it let her have some but like anything else don't over do.   I also love asparagus! [sm=happy.gif]

I dont know what the heck this is but its all I could find that related dogs to asparagus in any way.  If you read the script it seems like asparagus is good for them...? Dont ask where I got it I probably couldnt find it again if I hadnt copied the link.  Its craziness but maybe a clue...?????  Or maybe not I dont know lol.

we had asparagus with dinner the other night and emma also liked it.  she also really liked the frozen mixed vegetable we had last week (cooked when she ate them).

I found something that mentioned it while trying to look up where I read that carros raw are not digested... anyway..

  • Veggies: preferably pureed raw or can be steamed (whole raw veggies, such as broccoli or carrot sticks, are not harmful but can't be digested by dogs). Good veggies include carrots, celery, all kinds of greens (kale, collard greens, mustard greens, bok choy, cabbage, spinach, chard, parsley, cilantro, etc.), lettuce (anything but iceberg, which is not very nutritious), broccoli, brussel sprouts, zucchini, asparagus, turnips, parsnips, etc. Do NOT feed [linkhttp://www.jlhweb.net/BOSS/onions.html]onions[/link]. Warning: If your animal is having any symptoms of arthritis, inflammation, respiratory problems or any other conditions that involve swelling or mucous, stay away from the nightshade family (potatoes, tomatoes, peppers and eggplant).

should have read this last night!
We just learned Tyler cannot have broccoli. We also learned that 5 minutes after he eats it we will see it again and it will have mysteriously grown to 5 times its size. Ughhh!
