Rice gluten was NOT on their ingredient lists on the website yesterday, and is not on the ingredient lists on the bag.

    I'M PISSED!!
    • Gold Top Dog
It was not on their website last night at 11:30 but its there now!

This isn't going to end anytime soon and I'll bet it ends up in human food (but I pray that I'm wrong about that).
I've come to the conclusion that you just can't trust any company at all - NB didn't have the ingredient on their bags or website, RC didn't .... who else is up to this monkey business ?
I'm so glad I got over my fears and decided to try homecooking.  It wasn't nearly as difficult as I thought it would be.

At this point in the game with our own human foods being recalled left and right,,,I'm not so positive that we can rely on any ingredients, unless you grow them yourself. And thats not happening.
I bet a million dollars the FDA and the powers to be are frantically searching to see if any of these products are in human food.  So many things come from China.  Probably NONE that we can't make right here in the US.

You're right; it wasn't on the bags when I fed it to Jessie last summer; is it illegal not to list all the ingredients?

Edited to add; I'm really glad that I switched our cats from Royal Canin to Eagle Pack yesterday since apparently they don't list every ingredient.  The cat  food didn't have rice gluten but did have corn gluten, which was involved in their recall in South Africa.

I don't know. I took screenshots of several websites that list the 'old' ingredients, but of course didn't get the actual mfg site since they'd already changed it. I also took pics of the ingredients on the bag and the UPC. Now if I only knew what to do with them.

I'm waiting very impatiently till 7:30 so I can call the vet. I don't know if I should have everybody tested or not. They all seem fine.

In the Senate hearing last week, they said that the CDC is tracking cases of kidney failure in humans, to help detect if any of this stuff has gotten into the human food supply.

I find that kind of lame--they're essentially saying that people will have to get sick or die before we know if it's in human foods.

This shell game with ingredient listings is making me furious! [:@]

I really hope your dogs will be okay; let us know what the vet says. Royal Canin must be one of the five companies the FDA wouldn't name in the press conference yesterday.

I knew this was going to happen with Royal Canin this week. I feed the special mini to my English Toy, and recent puppy buyers are feeding Royal Canin. What I am feeding is not on the recall list, but I am staying away from any Royal Canin completely, and am calling all my puppy people, and clients that feed Royal Canin. This recall thing gets more upsetting all the time.

Eagle is one of the few foods I do feel safe feeding, so I am sticking with it! I am seriously considering home cooking now too, maybe a good idea?

Maybe they want to give CEOs time to unload stock before announcing anything. [:@]   This whole thing exposes how pet/consumer welfare is not nearly as important to the US governement as protecting the corporations involved.  It is amazing how long it has taken for some of these companies to come forward and confess that their products are not safe.

I feed grain free kibble so I haven't been following it as closely as most others probably have but it seems to me that all of the pet food problems of the last few years involve only grains.

It has got to be completely illegal to not list the correct ingredients on the bag of food. Even if it weren't poisoned you could kill dogs with serious allergies.
