    Addiction foods...updated: she loves it.

Thanks to Sooner (Kelly), I have found a place where I can not only order Evanger's by the can, but I found a food called Addiction Foods. I'm trying the brushtail and vegetable entree for Ella and the Unagi and seaweed canned food.

Has anyone ever tried Addiction Foods before and even more specifically, the Brushtail and Unagi formulas?

If so, how did your dog(s) like it?

I ended up ordering 3 cans each of those and 3 cans each of the Evanger's sweet potato and duck and the buffalo and pheasant game meats.

We'll see how she likes them!

[linkhttp://phydeauxpets.com/]http://phydeauxpets.com[/link] also sells Evangers by the can too[:D]

I have seen those foods, but haven't tried them.  I usually wouldn't say it's worth finding them unless you have a REALLY bad allergy case and need to find a very....exotic protein source (hehe).  But, if you do have easy access to them I'm sure they are great.

BTW---I love you new avatar pic!! "What big ears you have" [:D]

    thank you!

I checked out that other site and the evanger's canned food aren't coming up for me. Evo's and some others are, but not the evanger's.

It didn't occur to me that those more exotic meats would be good for allergy dogs. D'oh. I wonder if Jessies_mom would be interested in trying them for Jessie. I know she's probably got Jessie on a strict allergy diet (an elimination of sorts) but maybe she could try them since *I think* Jessie has some meat allergies.

I'll let you know how Ella does on them[:D]

I love your avatar too; Jessie's ears look like that when she looks up at us. She's allergic to chicken, salmon, and pork. What really restricts the canned food I buy is that she's also allergic to potatoes, which seem to be in almost every canned food.  She loves Eagle Pack canned food, actually preferring it to EVO, but she can't have it anymore. I cook a mixture of meat, (bison, beef, or turkey), ;parsnips or turnips, and a green vegetable according to the instructions in Monica Segal's booklet about enhancing kibble and add that to her food; I cook enough to last a week. I also use Nature's variety raw medallions and some of their canned meats, which I can get at a local feed store. I prefer to get her food locally instead of paying shipping and the feed store I shop at has a good selection. Let us know how Ella likes the brushtail and Unagi (don't know what they are), and thanks for thinking of me.[:D]

Hey, you may not eat eel or possum, and I may not eat eel or possum, but Ella, Ella might eat eel and possum.[;)]

Oh, totally. Cherokee's such a fan of possum she'll jump 6 feet and grab them off the fence in our yard. I've considered getting the brushtail food for her. Wonder if she'd recognize the taste. [:'(]

She eats possums? Jessie often finds them in our yard; she found one a few days ago, but they play dead and after picking them up a few times she leaves them alone. When I check later they've scampered off..

GAH. I have a serious fear of possums. BLEH. I cannot even imagine if Ella got a hold of a REAL, LIVE possum. I'd die.

I'm not sure she's ever actually eaten much of one, but she definitely kills them. The first few times she left them "playing possum", but after that, I guess she figured them out, and they were definitely dead. [:o]

Yeah, Rebecca. Try having to dig up a half-buried one to get rid of it. Or smell something rotting and realize it's a possum way back behind some bushes that you now get to go collect. [:'(]

It's because she has access to the (very securely fenced) yard at night. We're skipping that this possum season. I hate cleaning up the poor possums.

    I couldn't imagine, Chelsea. But that's a smart doggy you've got!

    I got her foods today!

    The Brushtail was a hit!
She was drooling like mad after I let her lick the spoon.

And I got a nice little items list with a handwritten thank you on it. THAT'S a company that cares about its customers.
I ordered it on Saturday and got it today. I WILL be ordering from them again.

    I got it from [linkhttp://www.naturalpetmarket.com/category_detail.cfm?categoryid=66&varpageid=999&uplevel=All%20Natural%20Dog%20Food&level=Canned%20Dog%20Food]Natural Pet Market.[/link]

That was FAST! Glad she likes it!!

I can't switch kibbles because of Boomer's sensitive tummy, so I have fun with different canned foods. We'll totally have to try these.

It's expensive to buy by the can and have it shipped, but completely worth it since I can't get anything interesting locally.

Ugh, I have a possum killer too. Rotten. She doesn't eat them, just leaves them for me to go out and find. Just after we moved into this house she got what I think was a whole litter. 5 young ones in one night, actually, in about one hour. [:(] [:(] But what the heck were they all doing in the yard?!?

    Kelly,

Shipping was a bit (like...$8.78), but I ordered 15 cans of food so the weight was 12 lbs. I can understand the shipping being a bit pricey for something that weighs that much.

Does Prozyme or anything like that work for Boomer's sensitive tummy?
