Believe it or not WalMart is starting to take a heavy turn towards HEALTHIER food products. They are carrying LOTS of organic foods now and I heard that they intend to carry the largest assortment of organic products of any store other than stores that are totally dedicated to organic or holistic products. I wouldn't be surprised if they start carrying holistic and organic pet products soon. I just hope they start eliminating the 'crap' products and Ole' Roy can be the first to go.

I know that my mom told me that her supermarket started carrying Newman's Own Organics pet products. Alot of stores were carrying just the treats but now they're carrying the food.
Costco is also carrying it and Cloud Star but only in certain markets.  I think people are really starting to worry about the effects all these chemicals and things are having on our health and our pet's health. There is more cancer, tumors and serious disease now than ever that is all directly FOOD related. Our bodies have become toxic waste dumps all for the sake of food industry profit.

    Sad isn't it ? :(

Oh by the way... the food sounds very good. How much is it ? I need to run to Wally World later today. Maybe I'll pick some up if ours has it.

Is ok for a dog and is good for them too.

That SHOCKED me Wally World has a good, wholesome dog food. I would also be interested in knowing what brand of food it is too.

Ok.. now that I've been to the website  I've changed my opinion a little. Where did you get your ingredient list from ?  Was that canned or dry food ? I don't like the fact that they use generic poultry fat instead of chicken fat. That's not good. Beet pulp isn't good, they're using it as a stool hardener. The levels of Omega 3 & 6 are quite low , they should be double to triple that amount. And lastly they're preserving it with Menadione Bisodium Sulfate. That's enough to stop me from even considering it right off the bat.

You had me excited there for a minute.

I stand corrected....I had to change a few things because I misread on the Lamb meal.  Overall it seems to be much better than what they already offer but I'd put this in the category with foods like Authority and Nature's Recipe... about a medium grade food. But certainly above Iams or Purina.

I saw that at walmart, and was shocked! It really looks like a very decent food.

I bought two cans (wet food) and typed the ingrediant list off the cans,

im sorry to get you excited!! i was too bc i thought i found somethin a little cheaper than Innova and good quality...

Thank you all for helping me,

I saw this a couple weeks ago at my own local Walmart.  I hope it goes well.  Heck, if people start feeding this stuff instead of Ol' Roy or Iams, won't they be surprised at the difference it will make for their dogs?  Well, I guess if they pay that close attention.  But anyone that would make the switch to food that costs, what, 2.5 times more, are probably at least a LITTLE more thoughtful than the average Ol' Roy purchaser.

Anyway, people who notice the difference may wonder what even MORE premium dog food can do for their dogs' health and I bet this will help the "little guys" too.  Unlike many market machinations of the Wally Empire.[8|]

Color me happy.  I can recommend a food you can get at Walmart, to my adoptive families.

Feed mills are getting in on it too.  My partner was showing me a food she's started using that was very similiar to the Walmart chicken, except the first ingredient was poultry meal rather than chicken meal, and there was a listing for whole ground corn right before the chicken fat (it was chicken rather than poultry fat.  My partner actually likes beet meal and looks for foods that contain it - her dogs are incredibly stressed while working so maybe it keeps them regular under those extreme conditions.  Anyway, it was the same price as the nasty crap she used to feed with not even a speck of whole meat in it.  I've turned HER into a label reader, too.  [:D]

I'm glad that the general public may actually have a fighting chance at being able to get healthy foods for themselves and their dogs from popular big box/grocery stores for potentially lower prices, but I will still avoid Wal-Mart.  I do not wish to support their business practices and there are some blooming local businesses for me to buy my dog food from.

Darn it, now we can't pick on Wal-Mart anymore.

Actually, this goes with what I have been saying before about the consumer directing the industry, somewhat. If buyers will only buy food with labels they can understand and have a meat first in the ingredient, etc., the dog food companies will follow suit or go out of business. Supply and demand.

I think the OP bought canned food which does look pretty good:

    Adult
Ingredients: Chicken, chicken broth, chicken liver, brown rice, pearled barley, peas, flaxseed meal, carrots, calcium carbonate, sodium tripolyphosphate, potassium chloride, cranberry meal, minerals (iron amino acid chelate, zinc amino acid chelate, cobalt amino acid chelate, copper amino acid chelate, manganese amino acid chelate, sodium selenite, potassium iodide), vitamins (vitamin e, a, b12, d3 supplements, thiamin mononitrate, biotin, riboflavin supplement), choline chloride, yucca schidigera extract.

    Lamaderm Adult
Ingredients: Lamb broth, lamb, lamb liver, brown rice, ground rice, peas, flaxseed meal, carrots, lecithin, dicalcium phosphate, potassium chloride, guar gum, calcium carbonate, cranberry meal, minerals (iron amino acid chelate, zinc amino acid chelate, cobalt amino acid chelate, copper amino acid chelate, manganese amino acid chelate, sodium selenite, potassium iodide), sodium tripolyphosphate, vitamins (vitamin e, a, b12, d3 supplements, thiamin mononitrate, biotin, riboflavin supplement), choline chloride, yucca schidigera extract, carrageenan.

I saw this at Wal-Mart the other day, but at $1.22 per can it's not any cheaper than the premium canned (Innova for $1.20, Canidae for $1.15) I've been buying at the feed store, but it is more convienent, and I was really glad to see it there.

Ohhhh ok....I thought we were talking about the dry, not the canned [8D]
