Well, alright, I'll post to keep things on-topic.
First, so that I don't forget: Meat rolls sound great, but I worry about how they are preserved. I think that they must be irridated or some other harsh chemical in them in order for them to be shelf stable. The only way around that is to have something that is frozen / can be refridgerated in sections ---- but that requires a freezer at the point of selling and unless the dog store already sells NV frozen patties, then I don't see this being an option.
I honestly don't see a funcitonal, cost affortable way to do meat rolls that don't have harsh preservatives / been smoked / irridated or whatever. I guess out of all these choices, smoking would be best - but smoking produces alot of carcinagens, so it sure wouldn't be a food to give often.
Maybe there is something I am missing in understanding how meat rolls are preserved...............
OK, my TWO story. It was the ONLY kibble that I ever used that was good for my allergy guys. Turns out that was b/c I happened to order varieties that did not have rice in them. However, after being on them for over a month, they still had such soft poops that I would have to clean them up after walking them. Then all the other stories came out about the different bags / kibbles problems. So, despite that being the only kibble that worked for our food allergies, I was too scared to use them again.
Now, now I know more than I did back then - 2 years ago. I know now that I could add in other stuff to their bowls and help with the poops. I didnt' know enough back them to realize that I could tweak their food to make it work better for them. But, even so, I'm not sure I would have done that.
TWO is in a niche - they cater to

eople who are ultra concered about their dog's health and their food. Because of this, these people have a higher set of standards and demand more and are just "pickier". Things that wouldn't bother the average joe picking up chow-chow is going to make a huge difference to the people buying TWO.
Selling in a niche market means catering to a more food educated people, who are naturally going to be more demanding about all the little details.
So, whether or not the quality of the food changed, it was enough of a concern for me to not order TWO again with the customer service / bag changing issues. That is something considering it was the first food I had found that had not made worse my guys food allergies. So, yeah, I'm waaaay picky.
On another note: I don't know whether the owner hired Chris to go in depth this much, to be active in putting out the fires, and to be a new front person showing good customer support OR if the owner just doesn't have a clue, and got really lucky.
Either way, I have to be impressed with someone - from any food company - that comes on and is willing to listen to people "bitch" and still be nice in return. Chris isn't the only one this has happened to......I think people get so frustrated with a situation, don't have an "out" for it with the company that has upset them, and it builds.
I realize that many people would think that a food representative came one just to promote their product b/c of the recent scares. I don't think that is the case with the names we are familiar with. The thing is, TWO, EP, etc. are all companies that people on this forum have contacted---so I see that as a resonable route / reason why the reps would come on here. And, gee, getting bashed at isn't any fun for anyone. So, while I don't support the active promotion of a food company on this board, I think the things I have seen from the company names I already recognize has been done with fair intentions.
