Timberwolf Organics - Problems

    Timberwolf Organics - Problems

Continuing the other thread - on topic. And for Chris' information.

Like what?  I see a billing issue from a while back that started because people were trying to take advantage of a website problem.  There were some past QC probelms, but what are the current probelms?

    • Not all their billing problems were from people trying to take advantage of a situation. They tried to collect from me when I had e-mailed them multiple times about the shipping issue and had been told they would send a return tag. They eventually found the e-mail to me from their rep, who was of course no longer there. This was after they called multiple times to collect (months after the food had shipped).
    • Luvntzus post about generic silver bags is like deja vu - on 3/14/06 a TO distributor [linkhttp://forum.dog.com/asp/tm.asp?m=6235&mpage=2&key=silver∰]posted[/link] that they sent her 16 plain, silver bags that she couldn't resell. And even though they said they would refund her, they never did.
    • I've yet to see a question about the composition or production of their product that they will answer. People are trying to get sodium and iodine levels from them and they either give no response at all, or an non-answer answer. These are people with health concerns about their pets. Not to mention the whole Menu thing.
    • The turnover is unreal.
    • Rancid food.
    • Testing? out different kibbles on the public.
    • Using bags for well over a year that had incorrect ingredient lists.

All this has happened in the last few months up until now.

    Kelly,

If you yourself are not having any problems with TWO, and you currently are not feeding TWO, why do you insist on bashing the company?  I'm not trying to be combative, really I'm not, I just don't understand the motivation here.  How does Chris respond to CS issues if they are not your issues?  He's not going to disclose who makes the food, he can't.  End of story.  And he has stated that when he has an answer on iodine levels, he'll provide them.  If that's not good enough for you, I can see you not doing business with them, but why continue to bash the company?
    • Gold Top Dog
Yup, all of those issues are big for me. It really rubs me the wrong way that they refuse to say whether Menu foods manufactures their canned food or not. The fact that they're being so secretive is even worse than if they just said that their canned food is manufactured by Menu. Makes me wonder what else they're keeping secret and to me speaks volumes about the company.

Edited to add in response to Littlesaint- I think the company should know how some customers feel and the people on this board deserve to know the issues. What they do with the info is their own decision. [:)]

    Because you asked.

I just think it is unfair to bring up past issues everytime someone comments on this company.   I believe that a quality product outweighs a few past customer service issues. [/blockquote] Their customer service issues past 'a few' a long time ago. Also, it's not just old issues. The issues people have had in the past are STILL happening.

[align=left]Edited to add - I'm not *bashing* them, just in my personal experience, I don't have anything positive to say about them. So I'm saying what I do know.

Actually he said, "I would love to say I will post the numbers right away, but I am not sure if or when I can."
    • Gold Top Dog
But how many of these experiences are yours?  These are isolated incidents from other threads that in the grand scheme of things really don't mean a whole lot when you consider how many feed this food compared to how many read this forum or the others.  You clearly have some sort of agenda against this company both here and on other forums.  I'd just like ot know where it stems from.
    • Gold Top Dog
Numbers 1, 3, 4, 5, & 7 have been my personal experiences from a year or so ago when I fed the food, and they continue to be problems for some that feed it. I also experienced bags with no production codes and mixed kibbles in bags, but I didn't mention them because I haven't heard of it happening recently. I was also billed for two 33 lb bags and only received one and didn't receive any kind of response from TO until I contacted the Florida BBB.

I don't have any sort of 'agenda' other than thinking the company is practically worthless when it comes to quality control and customer service. I post my personal experiences and the experiences of others that are verifiable so that customers and potential customers can have the information. What they do with it is their business.

I'm posting it now because you asked and because there is a TO rep here who might take interest in it.

    littlesaint...
LOL...I am sorry but it does seem you are simply out to argue here, and I just say that as a person who just walked in the door and doesn't even really know the backstory...that's how this post comes across.

Why ask for experiences, if you are just going to pick at them and state they aren't important?

Sooner, from what I read, just told you where it stems from?
    • Gold Top Dog
My ony problems with TWO were when my sister picked up some for me downstate.  We had enormous stools, and the cats refused to eat theres.

I did contact CS a few times and got absoutely no response.

Just a naughty little reminder that I can and wil close a thread if I think it's getting too snarky.  Everyone would do well to remember that.  If you don't think I'm talking to you, I'm probably not........

I have been very pleased with the actual food. Very small stools on all my dogs, and my black Pugs have coats that are gleaming on this food. My concern for the moment, is that they will not disclose if Menu foods is where their canned food is made. Other companies at least are being honest with their customers. I think, in light of what has been going on, in all fairness, consumers have the right to know if the product they are feeding their pets is made at menu foods. Then they can make the choice to feed it or not. Many good companies, like Natura and Eagle have their canned foods made by Menu, and still I think we all feel very good about those companies. Timberwolf not letting their consumers know anything is what is making me, and I am sure, many of us uneasy. natures Logic seems to be doing the same. They come across like they really have something to hide, at least it appears that way. I am not feeling to comfortable continuing feeding Timberwolf at the moment.

    AMEN.
    You and me BOTH.

And this sucks, too, because Timberwolf makes the only fish-only based, grain-free food that I can find. And my problem isn't with if menu manufactures or not because I feed kibble. My problem is the blatant dishonesty going on. It's telling me that they care more about their business than they do their products and even less about the beloved pets that eat their food.

I've got to find another kibble to feed.

That's how it looks to me.. I agree with you...

I recently started feeding TWO and have been very happy with it so far. While I agree it's not a good company policy to be so elusive, I'd rather have reps that say "I'm not allowed to say that" than that simply ignored queries or took months to respond, like other companies I've dealt with.

What if the recall would have included kibble or would have been SOLELY a kibble recall??? What then? Would we NOT be able to know the manufacturing details then??

I feed Ocean Blue right now and I HATE having to switch, but I will not buy from a company that won't reveal information like this ESPECIALLY during a major food recall.

I'm glad that Chris responds to us all almost immediately. But that's not enough to keep me (and plenty of others) as their customer(s).
