as far i knew originally, natura wasn't involved at all. and now it turns out that they ARE involved. and dry kibble wasn't supposed to be affected, but now i'm seeing problems with dry kibble pop up
Natura's dry products are produced at their own facility. Their canned products are produced by Menu in South Dakota - not one of the plants involved in the recall. Natura provides the recipe and buys and provides all the ingredients. Menu just cans the stuff.
The anecdotal evidence of problems with dry kibble are all kibbles that contain wheat.
I'm not feeding anything from Menu either, I just don't think all the hysteria is necessary. I fed several can of EVO 95% in the weeks before the recall and I fed the last couple in the cabinet after the news came out. For now I've switched to another brand, but I don't for a second think there is anything wrong with Natura, I just prefer not to support their use of Menu. [sm=2cents.gif]
Also, so many of these companies use Menu because they are supposed to be the best. It's been posted that one company chose Menu because all the other canning factories that were possibilites were
"appaling and disgusting. Those who can't wait to bail from Menu on foods NOT being recalled would vomit if they saw where some foods are made".
Obviously when Menu is left to buy the ingredients, they choose profit over quality, but they do not buy the ingredients for all the foods they manufacture.
