Timberwolf Organics - We're Still Here!

Hi guys and gals! Chris here from removed due to member objections to company names

I just wanted to let all of you know that we have been experiencing some problems with the website, and you may not be able to connect. We are aware of the issue and have a team working on it. I have gotten lots of emails from customers today, worried that we have gone out of business. DON'T WORRY... We're here to stay! We hope to have the site up very, very soon!

If you have any questions, or I can help you out with anything, email me through my profile

    Thanks,

    Chris Porch

So, Chris, what's the word?  Does Timberwolf Organics use MenuFoods in the production of any of their products?  It's been reported here that Timberwolf refused to say where their foods were produced, when contacted.  Yet Becca reports:
I had emailed Chris and asked him about this pet food recall, and assured me that Timberwolf is NOT affected at all by it and that we can all continue to feed the food in confidence.

Please clear this up for the folks here who feed or are considering feeding Timberwolf Organics to their pets.

It states on their website that they cannot disclose who makes their food.  Not sure what to take from that, but it's not Menu Foods.  Also, none of their formulas use wheat, or corn for that matter.

when I emailed Chris, I hadn't heard about the rat poisoning in the wheat. To my understanding, they had only THOUGHT it was the wheat.

Now that I know for sure, I'm not concerned because I feed Ocean Blue which has NO grains.

I have edited the original post in the interest of fairness.  If it is not ok for a long time forum member to mention HIS product then it is also not ok for this member to mention theirs.

I think the member objection was, and has been in the past, to a company representative using this forum to advertise their product or make remarks about other companies.

I'm glad we have company representatives here to give general information and answer questions about their products and companies.

I'm not real clear on how THIS post was any different.  The company info was there three times as well as the logo in the avatar.  Personally I saw no reason to remove the company information from the OTHER post, but since I did that, in fairness, I need to do the same here.

You're welcome to discuss this with the Administrator Kelly if you wish.  I'm simply trying to be consistent in what I do.

    I totally agree with you.

This was not a direct attempt to sell product, just to give information on the website problems. I thought those kinds of posts were allowed, but advertising wasn't.
    • Gold Top Dog
I'm sorry, but my interpretation of a post that has the company name, email addy, phone number AND logo all included, is that it is a form of advertising.  Subliminal perhaps, but still advertising.  Again, if you don't like my decision, chat with Personal Champ.  I have no problem being over ruled, but again, I removed John's info, and have removed info from the OP in the interest of fairness and remaining consistent.  Until I am told to do otherwise, that's what I'll continue to do.

FTR, I feed neither EP or TWO.  We had large stool issues with both of the foods, so I'm an equal opportunity editer here....

I think it's good to have vendors represented here.  Sure it's free advertising, but they can provide good information.  Maybe a better idea would be to make it mandatory that vendors identify themselves as such so readers are informed.  Then the readers can take any opinions with a grain of salt knowing that they have "interests" at stake.

Then we'd have to do the same with toy vendors, clothing vendors, dog trainers, etc etc where would it end? I'm with Glenda...I think she did the right thing.

ETA; If members refer to rules 9 and 11 they can also perhaps understand the actions of the mod better as well.

Shouldn't we know when a vendor is providing nutritional information about their product as opposed to someone else?  If Chris wants to let us know nutritional information about TWO, shouldn't we have knowledge that he represents that company?

I think there's a difference in selling/advertising their merchandise and providing general company and product information. The food reps are a valuable addition here. They have a fine line to walk, but usually it isn't a problem.

Saint...they can let you know who they are without spamming the forum.
And truly....we also must bear in mind that this is the internet where anyone can be anything. I sure don't believe everyone that says they're this or that in real life...that comes with time spent chatting or discussing.

I wouldn't want (as a mod) to have to check out everyone that comes here claiming to be representing this or that food/product/service. Given the recent recall who knows what sort of political marketing games are going on now?

Rules are rules...and the only ones who can bend them are the Admins...Kelly and Jill. Please feel free to post your thoughts in the How Are We Doing area and perhaps you can find what their thoughts are there.
