Web site that compares food costs

Web site that compares food costs

I think a long time ago someone posted a web site that you enter the size of the dog, etc. and then it will tell you from a variety of dog foods how much it actually costs per feeding per brand.  People posted it as a way of showing that more expensive foods actually cost less because you feed less.

Does anyone know the web site I am talking about?

We just got a new dog who is technically my bf's.  He wants to feed better than purina but also be cost effective.  I feed Zoe Canidae and Innova but she eats 1/2 cup a day.  This dog will eat 3+ cups a day.

    Thanks!

I have seen that site and can't remember where it was either .  I will tell you that the cost difference between Canidae and some Purina junk dog food is a metter of pennies a day at most.  Tell your friend to skip one Starbucks a week, and feed his dog something that won't give it Cancer or something just as bad, in middle age.

Canidae and Chicken Soup are both very cost effective. Chicken Soup is $29.99 for 35 lb and isn't Canidae around $25 for 33 lb. More expensive than Purina Dog Chow, but less expensive than Purina ONE even. So yeah, I think either CS or Canidae are a great combination of quality and reasonable price. [:)]

Aw, I sure hope he will decide on a good food... There are many ways he can save money. The life of your precious pet is too important to save there.

The regular adult Canidae comes in a 40 lb bag - here it's $29.99. Feeding three large dogs, a bag lasted us exactly three weeks. So I was very happy with it's cost effectiveness.

But no, sorry, I don't know the site.

I find that Eagle Pack quite affordable...and a good food to feed our pups. In my area, it is less expensive than Canidea..at least it was a few years ago when we were trying to feed Ollie Canidea.  He only ate a couple of bags and then refused it...thats when we switched to Eagle Pack.

I don't know the website either, but I once calculated it would actually cost me more to feed Iams than Timberwolf Organics, because you end up feeding so much more of the Iams.
