Acana?

    Acana?

Does anyone have any opinions on this food?  I 'm thinking of switching my dogs to it.  Its way less expensive and the ingredient list looks pretty good.  Crusher I think needs to stay with a holistic blend, which he is on with Canidae, but this is holistic too.

Living in Canada, you should consider Orijen. It looks like a fantastic food.

It looks pretty good, to me. The only really questionable ingredient I see is "vitamin k supplement", which could be menadione. If that bothers you, you could call the company and ask.

hmmm....I have never heard of that food, but it looks like it has good ingredients.

Is it only available in Canada?

It looks really good! The only things I don't like (being nit picky) are the rice bran and menadione bisulfite. If I were in Canada though, the very first food I'd try would be Orijen. [;)]

That makes sense- some of the ingredients and the wording look similar. It seems like Orijen is a step up...

Oddly enough I didn't even see the Orijen.  We only found the Acana because the pet store where my friend gets her EP from has decided to get some in and was talking to us about it.  She says it will retail for about $20 less than the EP Power that my friends dogs are on, which would be about $40 less than the Canidae that my dogs are on.  And it seems like better food.  Although all the dogs are doing well on their respective foods, with the exception of one that appears to have allergies to the EPP, and has now been switched to EP Holistic Fish, since this food is also Holistic and a very high quality, it would be economically benificial to both of us to switch.  I'm prepared to spend 160 on my dogs food everymonth, but I would be an idiot to not cut that in half if the food is better anyway right?
