Dog changing role - adjust protein %?

My male Pap will be off the show trail for a while (He earned his championship, now we have to wait till he matures/gets more coat and decide if I am going to "special" him.)  My question shall I change his food/protein level since he won't be showing?  He will still be getting lots of exercise and I may start agility with him.

p.s. he is very tightly wound, busy, active, a bit compulsive if not given challenges.

    thank you,

What a beautiful dog! May we see more photos?

I'm most curious about what you've been feeding him so far to get him this far along. An agility Pap is very appealing and I would think that he'd still need high quality meat food. I have a medium small dog that gets bored but isn't too busy or noisy as a rule. I was just thinking today walking my dog on the streets of Manhattan where there seemed to be almost as many dogs out as iPods and cell phones, that the bigger dogs never act up around my usually calm dog. I guess it's because thankfully their owners realize you can't have a 80 lb GSD off the hook on the street.

But I run into seemingly very nice people all the time who have two dachsies or mini poodles and the dogs are berserk.

I think it's just as great to have a well behaved happy Pap by your side as a pittie. Both extremes on the spectrum get a bad rap.

    What a cutie!

What food are you feeding now? Regardless of if you are still competing or not, small breeds still need a higher protein/higher energy food to keep up with their fast metabolism.
