best dry dogfood for sensitive stomach

If  I look up and I see the sky is brown you are darn right i will agree with someone who says it is blue.  It is what i see, not what they see, that counts for me.  And as to giving mine vitamins and sups, you better start reading the posts better because there a heck of a lot here that give sups and vitamins, not just me,  Some get them because they are needed, others because owners feel the need to make sure their dogs are getting what they need.

And as for  using breed as excuse for different ailments, that is a crock.  Get any book on goldens and it will tell you the breed is troubled with cancer, HD, thyroid and hot spots.  Almost every breed has health problems common to that breed and it has nothing to do with food.  And yes Buck does have arthritis, so do other dogs here.

As to that crack about easing my concience, you are way off in left field on that.  My concience is clear because I know i am doing what works for my dogs. So you don't like reading what  I cook for my dogs.  Sorry about that.  I am just being totally honest in what and how I feed my dogs......a fault my ;parents  instilled me, honesty.  I could say I fed purina only but that would not be the truth. I could say i give no sups or vitamins, but that would not be the truth.

And as to me belonging  to many forums, there are 3 dog health ones,  about 5 golden retirever and 5 all breed...one of which consists of a large number who use to post here when i first joined 3 years ago.  I was asked to come there as i had made "friends"s with several.  I don't work, i am alone with my dogs and i enjoy not only the chit chat about our dogs, kids and grandkids,  but also sharing information on health problems,  nutirtion,  seeing tons of pictures.    This is especially true on the golden forums  where we have several breeders, a few techs, a few that own show dogs, a few that do the showing for owners,  and they are from Canada, Australia, New Zealand, England, Germany, France, Ireland, etc, etc.  I am sorry it bothers you that I belong to so many forums.

Do you get your advocate from Australia?   Not long ago there was a post on one of the health about one put out by Bayer that was sold in Australia, but had not been FDA approved here het.  I just can't remember the name of it....was suppose to care of everything except split toenail...and I think ticks were not listed either.

Oops sorry,my misake! I got it mixed up with advantage, but have been reading about advocate recently, and yes you're right i did use revolution last time, remembering brand names are not my strong point! Not very encouraging news from your vet [&o]

You never answered my question about why you post so much about what you cook for your dogs. Not a "crack"just a question i've been meaning to ask you and one that i am curious about.

Not just my vet, a lot of vets and as i said i have seen it here also were vets were not using it because of the number of dogs  getting heartowmrs  while on it.  i do not know if it is a product failure, or failure by the owners to apply it properly.  And that Advocate is used in Australia and can by bought over the net, but is not FDA approved.    One guy who use to post here, lives in Sydney, almost lost his dog to the 12 month version used down there and he feels (as do some coming to the health boards looking for information) that the dogs down there are used at guinea pigs because there is no FDA  over seeing, to report to, etc.  Proheart was used there for a couple of years before coming here, lasted her 3 months.

And I thought i did explain why i tell what i fix for my dogs--I am telling exactly what and how I feed them.  I can't begin to count the number of posts I have read where people say they mix such and such canned with such and such dry, they rotate such and such with such and such.  How is that any different than my telling what i cook to add to my dogs Purina?  It is what I feed them, nothing more, nothing less.  If you cook for your dogs, by all means tell us what you fix.  It was here I learned that broccoli was okay for dogs and I add broccoli from time to time.

My vet doesn't sell it. They sell Frontline Plus, Heartguard, and Interceptor (for those who do not tolerate Ivermectin). They say that they don't like Revolution, it's not as good of a product. It carries more of a risk of side effects, and they've had several dogs come down with heartworms, while the owners were faithfully applying their Revolution. They also don't like Advantage, because the company does not stand behind the product. Merial stands behind Frontline, and it is guaranteed. Also, Advantix kills cats, and they had a problem with that, so they stopped selling it years ago.

Of course, they still sell pig ears, Greenies, and Science Diet.

According to the FDA adverse reaction figures (found at [linkhttp://www.dogsadversereactions.com]www.dogsadversereactions.com[/link]) it is the #2 killer behind proheart6.    When i first heard of Revolution I thought it sounded like a good product.  But when I asked my vet about it, that is when he told me didn't carry it anymore because of the high number of his clients dogs that came down with heartworms while on it.  Al,mklst everyone I know personally uses interceptor, only two with Revolution.  One orders over the net, the other lives/used a vet in Corpus.  His dog died recently, an 18 year hound dog mix simply  named Dog.

That doesn't make sense. If the regular hw pill stays in their system for 24-48 hours, that would be 12-24 days of the year. But if the Proheart 6 was supposed to last for 6 months then it would be in their system for 6 months and if given twice a year then it's in their system for 365 days of the year... it's not like on the first of the month it would start releasing, then stop until the next month and release again. Time release would be a slow continual release of the medicine right?

That would be IF the timed release worked 100% of the time.  I have read thoughts that it failed sometimes and  if it did, it would release too much into the dog at one time.
I honestly would not take a timed released vitamin!

Sandra you can tell us what you cook for your dogs any day of the week!  I'm making your Chicken stuff for Bubby right now as we speak!

Elizabeth,,,thats GREAT NEWS!
• Gold Top Dog
That isn't "my" chicken stuff, i found the recipe while surfing one day and it was a nurtitional site and had several recipes and for the life of me I don't remember what the site was and i would love to get some of the other recipes.  But thanks any way, and I hope Bubby enjoys it as much as Buck, KayCee and Honey do.

I know she will..she has been waiting patiently for it.

Wellllllllllllllllllllllllllllll,,,,NOT so patiently!  LOL!

Gosh darn it...I never get the GOOD memo's.  Had no idea that today was knock Sandra down and then kick the tar out of her while she is down......

PH6 has been proven to kill, cripple and maim dogs.  That's a fact.  Revolution has been proven to kill, cripple and maim dogs.  That's a fact, although not as HUGE a fact as with PH6.  My one summer experience with this wonder product left me wondering if it didn't do spit for fleas....and we were INFESTED...then what was it doing, or not doing, for the stuff I couldn't as easily detect?

I often share what I cook for my crew.  I even shared that I had scored unlimited venison bones.....so perhaps someone would like to start kicking me as well.  Move over Sandra.....

Yep,,,I got to believe that this paragraph is pretty much "hitting below the belt!"
I'm not sure about reading into "breed specific" diseases,i sometimes think this is a scapegoat excuse. There is so much info on this site, and so many links have been posted time and time again, have none of these changed your opinion even a little?
Why do you belong to so many dog sites,is it for education or socialisation? You dont seem to believe anyone or take any advice on board, and the only posts you post are about what your dogs get for dinner over and over again,as iff you need recognition and the "wow sandra, can i come to your house for dinner" and back patting responses,i cant think of any other reason why you would post about it so much? My theory is,and please correct me if i'm wrong,is that you know what people think about purina and you post your "supper" posts  to ease your concience, and let people know you're really not a bad owner because you feed purina. I'm sorry to be so blunt Sandra, but it seems you would argue the sky is brown if someone said it was blue....

I think we all must remember that the information and links put on this site are usually just someones opinion...and not always correct or proper.    Not until the end will we know if Sandras Purina is the better or the worst of the food we here at Idog feed our dog, and she sure doesn't need to "ease her conscience" OR let people know she is not a bad owner because she feeds Purina.  Actually, she is a good owner because she feeds what works for her dogs. We should ALL be that smart!

OUCH!  That was  a nasty quote, Dyan.

I suppose MY talking about homecooking is looking for a pat on the back or salving my conciounse for feeding (gasp) Innova and/or Canidae......perhaps I'll stop offering the recipe to whomever wants it or the liver treat recipe..........I surely don't want to be accused of this kind of stuff......
