Depending on where you are this site has very high shipping, but right now the Lamb Canidae is on sale $18.99/40 lbs. ORDSC1069 is a 15% off coupon code. Might be worth checking into. Click [linkhttp://www.petfooddirect.com/store/product_detail.asp?pf%5Fid=20164810&dept%5Fid=1&brand%5Fid=299&Page=&mscssid=XT0T4855FN0U9G4AKVQW9WG210490B66]here[/link]

ETA: I think that code expires tomorow, but they always have them 13% - 22% off. It's worth it to get on their e-mail list.

    Thanks Sooner!

Even with shipping being $20, it still ended up being a few dollars cheaper than what I would pay at the store..and I don't have to drive an hour. I think I will order a bag or 2.

I have tried Natural balance, royal cana(sp?), Nutro, and about every premium food sold at petco with no good results.  I need something that keeps her stool firm, her hips and joints in good shape and her skin nice and white (where it is white)

I do give yucca supplements to help her arthritis but I prefer food that also has joint support in it.  I am willing to go without it in the food but I#%92d prefer to have it in there.  I also add salmon to her diet with a few other herbs and supplements I know she needs.  Those are not the problem, I've tried the same foods with and without the stuff I mix in and there is no noticeable difference other then I know she's getting what she needs.

What I'm really asking here is not a list of food to try, I'm really grateful that all of you took the time to post them, but I'm looking for advice on the food I posted above, Premium Edge.  I want to know if it's worth a try, if not I'll try something else.

I also like the idea of just plain out ordering the food online, so I may just do that if this food isn't what I'm looking for.

Mudpuppy, what about Breeder's Choice Active Care. I know...it's grain loaded, but look at the glucosamine and chondroitin levels.

ok, that food does appear to have sufficient joint supplements in it-- but otherwise it's just super-yuck. The protein level is too low to support proper muscles, and one of the big factors in causing joint problems is insufficient fitness/muscling to support the joint.

I don't quite understand why the OP thinks it's "holistic" to feed a food that has joint supplements pre-mixed into the food. They just add chemicals before selling it to you, no different than you sprinkling them on the food yourself. Most dog foods don't have enough of these supplements in them to do your dog any good, and choosing a food on that basis seems weird to me. Every dog, horse, and human in my care is given a joint supplement daily, starting at age 4 months for dogs. Dogs don't have to "adapt" to it.
If you want a "holistic" joint support program, feed raw meaty bones. Chock full of natural joint support chemicals.

I may sound funny in saying this but it just makes me feel more confortable to feed something with joint support in it.  I would be more then willing to find a food that doensn't have it in there if it's better for her but for now I'm trying all the joint support foods with the hopes that one of them is right for my dog.  My logic may be more then wrong but I think that if the food is made with joint support then it would also be made with everything else desiged around that type of dog.

What my real question here is, does the food I originly posted look alright to feed to my dog?  I take all your suggestions seriously but at this time I really need to know about this food.

The problems I see are the menadione, and the amount of grains. Grains can aggravate joint problems and most dogs with issues improve when grains are removed from the diet. And it's made by Diamond.

I don't have a clue about Dimond foods, never really heard about them much.  But if the grains are a major problem then I might consider something else.  What is menadione and why should I be concerned about it.  Thanks so much!

Some people aren't concerned about menadione. Look [linkhttp://www.dogfoodproject.com/index.php?page=menadione]here[/link] to decide for yourself. Personally, I'm not worried about it on an occasional basis, but I'd never feed a food with it long-term.

Edited to add: [linkhttp://www.dogaware.com/arthritis.html]This article[/link] has some tips for dogs with joint problems.
