TWO feeders- the poop looks good!!!

No one "gets" why I care so much. At least I'm not alone ... LOL!

    I second that!  [:D]

We also have "poop reports" if both of us aren't walking the dogs. While I don't quite take notes like Rachel [;)]   I do notice the aroma (can't help but smell it when you are trying to tie up the bag [:'(])  and like Rachel I DO congratulate them on a job well done!

Today's was a little less volume than last nights but also I am slowly increasing the TWO so this is probably the reason. I am sure once I switch completely that they will be less in size and weight!! (my arm got tired carrying two heavy poop bags for an hour on last nights walk [sm=biggrin.gif])  Still adding Prozyme to help with the food transition and JJ is having a high volume of very foul gas right now, but it may also be the canned evangers that is contributing to that.

Rachel- I am keping my fingers crossed you will get your order today, but since you only ordered 4 pounds to start you better already ordered the next batch or be ready to drive into Truckee!  [:D]   Let us know if you get it!

Hold on there cowgirl!  So we're not getting the "straight poop" on your TWO transition yet. [:D]  I thought part of your argument for TWO over Pinnacle was that you were using Prozyme & Pinnacle but wanted to eliminate the Prozyme.

I did a semi-cold turkey switch to Solid Gold Barking A.T.M. a couple of days ago.  The poop is firm and she has never had any gas that I've noticed since I got her in July. I did not mix much canned with it.  I only added enough (Cal Natural Salmon & Sweet Potato) to flavor the water I add.  It was a somewhat impulsive purchase.  I do not like their use of canola oil.  I meant to buy a 4 pound bag but they were out so I bought a 15 pounder since I had a $10 off (dog's birthday) card from the store.

It is not being eaten as quite enthusiastically as other things but that may be attributable to me cutting back on the canned I mix with it.  She eats everything without leaving the bowl but actually lifts her head and looks at me a couple of times before finishing.  I do not plan for it to be her primary kibble but did want to work at least one grainless, high protein kibble into the rotation.

Now that I see the output is acceptable I can get back to my kibble roulette wheel!!

[:D]  I got great poo the first couple of times and didn't use ANY prozyme for those feedings.  I decided to add 1/2 the recommended amount amount becasue JJ started getting major tummy gurgles and was starting his bought of bad gas. I decided to add in 1/2 the amount of powder to the dry food so that it might aid the digestion a little bit. I figured I would do that for a couple of days and see if the gurgles and gas lesson a bit. First few poops though had no powder added and were truly great. We are now up to 50/50 ratio for a few meals, then I will do 80/20 and be Pinnacleless!   [sm=lame.gif]

What grain free formula's have you tried?  I have heard good things about the solid gold, but had bad experiences on them with my former greyhunds. My pups do the same thing, (looking over their shoulder at me during feeding if they don't love what I am giving them. . .in hope I will add something to it!).

I've only tried Evo regular dry as a protein booster mixed (4:1 or so)with Pinnacle Duck & Potato and California Natural Chicken & Rice with good, output firming, results.  I'm currently giving "Barking At The Moon" a try.  She's eating it but not Bark At The Moon crazy about it.

I may buy a small bag of Evo Reduced Fat to mix with some California Natural Chicken & Rice and Lamb & Rice I have hanging around that she is not too crazy about.

NO! I did not receive it today either!! UPS comes at 12:30pm and NO package for me! Oh, I am so sad...I am just so excited to get this darn food. What is even worse is that I went to Reno last week and I am going again Wednesday...so I could have totally picked up as many bags, sizes, and varieties of TWO at that store...just have to pay the outrageous pricing. I think I am going to pick up a big bag this week. I am so sick of waiting it is not even funny. Especially when everyday UPS delivers a package to my neighbors and never to me! [&o]

Anyway, thank you for crossing your fingers for me, how nice of you! I will be letting you know when I do get it...I know it has to come this week no matter what...I hope...but I think by that time I will have already just purchased a big bag in Reno. GRRRRR....

EVO now has the red meat formula and another option I would consider if your pup doesn't like barking at the moon, is Nature's Variety Raw Instinct.  Also, TWO Wild and Natural like you mentioned before OR if you want grain free but still not as high of protein as the W&N, then the Ocean Blue.
How old is your pup and what protein levels are you wanting to stay around??

How long of a time does TWO expect for delivery?? Also, didn't they send you a confirmation of shipping more than a week ago?? Maybe you can call the company and they can track the item and let you know where it is incase they got the delivery wrong or something??

i think picking up a more expensive bag would be a good idea right now!

Honestly, I can't believe the woman in Costa Mesa got it so quickly and yours is so slow. [&o]  Of course your cat is probbaly NOT wanting the food to ever arrive so that he/she can stay on EVO canned!  [:D

It takes about 2 1/2 weeks for my pups to go through 30 pounds or so. .  .When I start ordering online to save money I am going to buy 2 33 pound bags at a time and as soon as I am done with the first one, put my order in for 2 more.
Sorry the UPS man drove by again [sm=banghead002.gif]

I wonder if all the folks folks who were getting the free bags from Cindy at TWO got theirs yet??
Rebecca. . .weren't you one of the ones to get the "free bag of TWO" ?

Um, this is pretty typical of TO and one reason that a lot of people either quit using them or quit ordering through them, instead using www.petfooddirect.com - www.onlynaturalpet.com or local suppliers.

I know of a few instances where people were billed and never received anything, or received it 4-5 weeks later. One of my bad experiences was ordering 2-33 lb bags and being billed for both, but only receiving one. I e-mailed every day, and called most days for probably close to 2 months, never got anything in reply, but suddenly the missing bag showed up one day.

They blamed their multiple problems on moving to a new facility around that time, but that was some time ago, they should have improved by now. From what I can tell at least people are answering e-mails now, so that part has improved.

That said... I know it's frustrating, but ordering it over the holiday weekend, and the fact that it is coming across country... they or UPS may just be slow right now. Good luck with it!!!

I hope people are getting responces. .  .I e-mailed cindy with a few questions a couple weeks ago before deciding to switch and got NO responce. I decided to try the stuff anyway since I know they were having problems with all those bags that were shipped but not charged. I gave them the benifit of the doubt that maybe my e-mail didn't go through or they were swamped fixing all the shipping problems.

thanks for the info. . good to know. I might look up the websites you gave to see if thr price is comperable to the TWO website. . .hard to beat the "free shipping" though and at almost $65 a bag at a local store I am acertainly not going to go that route for very long!  [;)]
    • Gold Top Dog
No. I didn't receive a free bag. I saw the thread AFTER Carol showed up and gave away the free bags.
I bought it on my own after I read a thing about top dog foods on another board. I'm happy with the results of their food so I'm sticking with them, that and I can buy it locally.

LOL! When I read this, I was thinking "There's someone else in Costa Mesa????" and it literally took about 15 seconds for me to realize you must be talking about ME! [:D] I'm a little dense sometimes...

But yeah, I can't believe it's taking so long either. [&:]

lol, that sounds like something I would do! [:D]

Just a random update since we are on the subject of TO....
After I got my free bag (thanks to Carol!) of the Lamb and apples formula, my pup ate it over Bil-Jac, which until then was the only thing he wanted to eat (and for those who despise owners who accomodate their picky eaters: save your breath, I know we create them, blah blah [;)]).  Anyways, since I had a small bag of Bil-Jac, I decided to put two bowls (one with the Bil-Jac and one with the TO--yes, I know I am a loser) out for him to eat whichever one he wants, and he has actually been eating both, lol.  Since his poops are good, I am going to switch him to the Lamb and Apples when the Bil-Jac is gone.  Although I am a bit skeptical since he had problems with TO Wild and Natural, I am going to give it a shot (and luckily I found a local store that sells TO).  I think that the reason he is doing fine on this one and not the W&N is because of the grains and their contribution of fiber, but that's JMO.
    • Gold Top Dog
Papillon806, do you think you may have overfed the Wild & Natural?  I can see it would be easy to overfeed this stuff because the portions seem so small.  Maybe the TO food is really concentrated.  I'm giving it a try because both boys LOVE it and I like the ingredients.  I'm hoping they can tolerate it.

[sm=lol.gif]  Sounds like me too! Honestly, I just got too lazy to go back to the other thread and and look up your name!  Sorry Chelsea!  [:D]

I am sure I did not overfeed it.....he would barely eat 1/4 cup of it (he's eaten more of foods w/ higher kcals than W&N with no problem). I hope it does work for you though....the ingredients are impressive; I just wish it had some source of fiber in it as that is important for digestive health.
