    dry mixed with canned

I have been feeding my three (14, 7, and 15 months) Eagle Pack holistic with solid gold canned mixed in. They love it except for when I run out of the canned food...they won't eat just the kibble. I think I need to find a kibble they will enjoy dry, particularlyl for travelling. I will have to drive a little further, but I found out where I can get Canidae Life Stages..so all could eat one kind. Should I save teh canned food for a treat? Not use it at all? or does it matter?

I think that no matter what brand of kibble you feed if you add canned they aren't going to want it plain.  But, canned is soooo good for them so I'd say they should get it as more than just a treat.

My boy gets canned food mixed in with his kibble at each and every meal.

I completely agree. I don't think of it as I am spoiling him...just that I am adding another source of top quality nutrition. It is also fun to get different kinds of canned food...keeps my pup excited about eating...gives him variety...and nothing makes me happier than watching my boy eat. [:D]

Also want to recommend the Innova EVO 95% canned foods. They have chicken/turkey, duck, beef, venison, and rabbit. My boy loves them and they are really good for dogs because they are grainless and 95% meat! [sm=wink2.gif]

I just started mixing canned with kibble.  Boomer eats Canidae ALS kibble and I wanted to find a canned food that I could mix in as a treat every 3-4 weeks.  So I bought the canidae canned food and it good for about 4 meals mixed with his kibble.  He loved it and gobbled it up.  Its been 3 days since he lsat ate his canned/kibble mix and he's hasn't shown any signs of pickiness as he now eats soley kibble.

I try to never feed just dry food-- it can't be good for them. Plus I'm worried about bloat.
Evangers makes 100% meat canned that is a lot cheaper than the Evo stuff. Just a thought. You can get their all-beef or all-chicken for less than $1 a can. And dogs go nuts for it.
