Funny that you ask that edie...I was wondering if she wasn't getting her pms???
Bellyandcodysmom- I sent you a link a few days ago with a  martingale harness that I think is similar to what you mentioned you wanted to find.  [;)]

The main difference is that TO is pharmaceutical grade... Grizzly is not. Pharmaceutical grade is the purest form you can get. The others still have traces of PCBs and other impurities. Fish oil caps are the worst form and the most impure having a much higher concentration of pcbs and other toxins which have not been filtered out.

Note....on dogs swallowing fish oil caps ....You're supposed to puncture it and squeeze it onto their food !

I didn't know about supplementing w/vitamin E either. Sheesh...they are already taking so many things. I would think just a good multivitamin would be sufficient.

    Well you're thinking wrong.
It's NOT sufficient. Not IF you're adding more salmon oil.

I just throw a wild salmon oil capsule in the foodbowl in the food.   Unless I am using up  my liquid fish oils.

My black dogs long coat glistens, the short red hair dog coat is softer and looks pretty.

jjsmom06 and  edie... I haven't gotten any pm notices. Sorry....otherwise I would have answered them.  I'll check now to see if I have them.

I just got my Wild Salmon Oil. The bottle says 1 teaspoon per 40lbs of dog weight.

Should I give 1/2 teaspoon of oil twice a day...or 1 teaspoon of oil once a day? [8|]
    • Gold Top Dog
I would do  1/2ts twice a day, this way you're ensuring that there it's always in his system.

Someone mentioned a while back that salmon oil should be given twice daily because it leaves their systems so quickly.I'll try and find it.

    Thank You Edie! [:)]

If I split the Salmon Oil into twice a day...do I only give the Vitamin E (200IU) once a day?

Would you recommend doing this every single day?

    Thats what i do,salmon oil twice a day and E once,everyday.

I cant find the post about giving fish oil twice a day,but i remember it was "loveyoukaykay" who recommended it and why.Hopefully she'll see this and let us know.

Now, if I want to also give canned Sardines once a week...would I just hold off on the fish oil/vitamin E that day?

I wouldnt give the fish oil on those days, but i'de still give the E. But dont quote me on that last part,my dogs arent huge fish lovers,i'de just assume you would give E wether with salmon oil or a fish meal.

When I give Ella canned Sardines, I don't give her her fish oil supplement. But that's only because on the can of sardines it states that it's got 1 gram of omega 3's. So I only give her vitamin E on days that she gets sardines.

I believe a good source of omega 6s is olive oil.
Sometimes I go ahead and put a drop on Ella's food.
