Some dogs it can cause stomach upsets so start out giving gradually. It will make the coat alot softer and shine more. • Xebby Posted : 8/24/2006 12:16:03 AM I've never really liked the oil in capsule form.  I just feed fresh salmon about twice a week and that works fine.  I just like it because it's easyer to feed then forcing a capsule down the dogs throught.  I do prefer wild caught over anything else but for me it just depends on what's in the stoes at the time.  I'de say give about a slice 2x2x4 in. and that should be enough.  I usally buy a larg pice of slamon and cut it and freez what I don't use right away. 0 LIKE Like Share You have posted to a forum that requires a moderator to approve posts before they are publicly available. I also recently tried the California Naturals Supplement...my dogs are used to the salmon oil so I just started out with the CN at full dose... not wise! Poor guys all got the runs. So I would say start out slow and work your way up.   I live in the Pacific Northwest so have always been taught you cannot feed raw salmon or trout unless you deep freeze it for a certain amount of time(cannot remember how long).
