Rave for TW Organics Dakota Bison

I think a company that has had troubles in the past, such as diamond, would now have stricter QC than the average pet food plant! Another stuff up could spell the END of their company,so i would imagine they'de be checking and re-checking that all their produce is up to scratch

I think quality control people from the companies Diamond makes food for, such as Solid Gold and Natural Balance, are at the plants making sure things are being done the right way. However I'm not so sure that is the case at the Gaston plant where the contaminated Diamond food was made; have you read the FDA's report; it's unbelievable;  [linkhttp://www.fda.gov/ora/frequent/483s/01192006_DiamondPetFood/Diamond_Pet_Food_ProcessorsFDA483_01192006.pdf#search=%22Diamond%20Gaston%20FDA%22]http://www.fda.gov/ora/frequent/483s/01192006_DiamondPetFood/Diamond_Pet_Food_ProcessorsFDA483_01192006.pdf#search=%22Diamond%20Gaston%20FDA%22[/link]

They would have to make major changes to their production methods at that plant.

Nope, no canned food from what I know.

Months ago I e-mailed TO asking them if Diamond made their food in an APHIS plant and did not receive an answer. I e-mailed them again a bout a month ago and still no answer.

Another negative that doesn't sit well with me. Why can't they answer this simple question? [:@]

I was also curious about Timberwolf making a canned variety so I asked Carol that question a few days ago and here is the response she e-mailed me (hopefully she doesn't mind me posting it here, I don't think she would):

As a matter of fact we are in the process of developing a canned food.  It's in the initial stages at this point but the first one will be pheasant, chicken liver trout and sweet potatoes.  I took a can home to my 15 y/o golden and I have never seen him eat with such relish!  I am excited and can't wait for this to come on the market.  It will be out in the next couple months.  It looked good enough to eat myself, but one look at those big brown eyes and I would have grilled him a rib eye.

I wasn't exactly looking for this thread to turn into a debate over Diamond/TO.  My initial point for posting was to say that my guys love TO Dakota Bison, and that I am happy with their customer service/delivery/quality/etc.

That being said, I am sure if you looked into most dog food companies you would find at least 1 instance of some sort of manufacturing/contamination issue.  I am sure that this is not exclusive to TO/Diamond (if, in fact, they even are one in the same).

For now, I am happy with what I have received from them, and will continue to purchase.
