Went NUTS For EVO 95% Canned!

    • Gold Top Dog
I don't feed canned very often, but I grabbed a can of the Evo rabbit Monday morning and fed it to Witt (we were at work). He ate it like a starving dog..absolutely loved it. He eats rabbit about once a week in raw form....but by evening he had the runs. Maybe just too rich to pop on him like that. If I get more I think I will give a tablespoon or two at a time. Anyone else have this reaction?

When I give the EVO 95% Beef my little Eli also gets the runs.  I haven't figured out a safe amount to give him yet.  I may have to stop it entirely.  But he sure loves it.

If you don't mind my asking, where do you buy it at?  I live in the general vicinity and would love to try it for my allergy lab.

Cathy, I'll PM you this as well, but I found Innova Evo canned, Evo Vennison, Evo Duck, Evo Rabbit and Regular Innova canned at a feed store off of Greenback and Hazel. It's called Western Feed and Supply. It's a little store, located on Greenback with Hazel as the cross street. It's on the right hand side.

    Twin-

Where are you buying it at for that price? Let me know! I just checked my receipt and here's what I pard:

    Rabbit 13.2 oz - $2.90
    Duck 13.2 oz - $2.48
    Vennison 13.2 - $2.04
    Rabbit 5.5 oz - $1.68
    Duck 5.5 oz - $1.60
    Vennison 5.5 oz - $1.41

If there's somewhere that sells it at your price, I will definitely be going there. [:D]

    Sylvia-

OUCH! That is way too much for the cans! You know its funny 'cuz I was going to go there this weekend too because I called their other store and they said they carried them all...but forget it if they charge that much! That, to me, is just unreal. [:(] Here are the stores I posted on here for Cathy earlier on....

    Incredible Pets
4005 Manzanita Avenue, Carmichael, CA 95608
(95% Beef-$1.39/13.2 oz)...really cheap! They said they don't carry the other flavors because people weren't buying them...maybe we should tell them too...they are so much cheaper and I would love to buy them all at one store!

    Scraps Dog Bakery
11761 Fair Oaks Boulevard, Fair Oaks, CA 95628
    (95% Venison-$1.99/13.2oz, 95% Rabbit-$1.99/13.2 oz)

I am still on the look out for the Chicken/Turkey and Duck. But I give him Canidae canned which has Chicken, Lamb, and Herring...and also the Canidae canned Lamb...and the Natural Balance Duck/Potato. So, I am not too worried about finding those...especially for those prices! [:@]

I also wanted to address the runny poop issue for those that posted about it...[:)]

I recently switched my pup to Canidae kibble. With that I tried him on it with just the kibble to see how he was digesting the Canidae. His poops are absolutely gorgeous...if that's at all possible! [;);Perfect, small, firm, dark, etc. Well that was important before I added canned because I want to make sure if he did get the runs it was the cans and not the Canidae kibble I just switched him too. Well after a few days of making sure his stools were good....I started with the Canidae canned foods mixed in to test (I just use about a normal spoonful! Just enough to cover the kibble...no more..and mix it up very good!) Well then his poops were just as wonderful...so we tried the 95% Venison...JUST A SPOONFUL...his poops are still wondeful...and they have been ever since. I have given him the Canidae canned....venison....rabbit...and now beef. A can usually lasts me 4-5 days. So that should give you an idea about just how little I am actually using...beings that I feed him the canned with BOTH meals. I hope this information helps you. I have never given him just a plain can all at once by itself (I did with the NB Duck/Potato) but not the 95% varieties. My advice would be to make sure they have consistent poop on whatever they are eating (kibble, raw, etc) and then add just a WEE bit of the canned food to make it appealing.

I am sure after awhile of feeding my pup all these canned varieties...I could start giving him plain canned...I like to take things slow and work up his digestive system! I hope this helps...if you guys have any questions let me know...or PM me! [:D]

Thank you! I wish they were all at one store too (they are the one I went too), but I will travel to multiple stores get it cheaper. [:D] Actually, the vennison and rabbit are the ones that Ash likes best, so I won't even need to go to more than one store. Thank you so much! I will definitely check them out.

    Wait.
    They make beef?
    Like, good beef?
Does anyone's dog LOVE the beef?
Because Ella seems to LOVE beef, I could possibly try it.
    • Gold Top Dog
    Rebecca-

Yep, they make beef! [:)] So far my boy has loved ALL the flavors that I've tried (vension, rabbit, beef). I am sure Ella would love the beef!

Innova EVO 95% Canned has 5 flavors:
    1. Chicken/Turkey
    2. Beef
    3. Duck
    4. Venison
    5. Rabbit

And yes, it is "excellent" beef...they are 95% meat...so an extremely great quality canned food. There is No grain...just meat, water, vit/min.
    • Gold Top Dog
I might try some to *liven* up her kibble.
    Thanks!
    • Gold Top Dog
Ok tried my Dogs on the venison and the beef...So far beef is the one they like...really did'nt care for the venison and still doing perfect poops..Thanks Twin for all the info..[;)]

Been reading this string and have to ask, "do you guys mix it with kibble?" and if so, what kind
    • Gold Top Dog
Yes, I do mix it with kibble. Feeding 3 cans a day at $3 a can would really rip me a knew one fast, if you know what I mean! [8D] I mix mine with Canidae kibble...just about a big spoonful...and I mix it up all nice so the kibble is covered nicely with it (I don't just throw a dollop on the top and call it good enough). My pups stools are absolutely wonderful!

I will be switching to Timberwolf Organics here in a few days, and I plan on doing the exact same thing. I just stocked up on 1 of each of the 5 varieties, so we are good to go! I would advise starting out with adding just a little bit of the canned to make sure your dog(s) don't get the runs...then you can always add more. [:)]

One can lasts me about 4 days feeding twice a day...so that is really nice!

Mine love the EVO canned foods as well... we use the duck and venison ones and they go crazy for them ;D
    • Gold Top Dog
The EVO seems to be giving my peke-pom the runs. Has had trouble with some foods in the past. Anyone else have a problem with this being too rich?
    • Gold Top Dog
I give my dogs the Nature's Variety canned which also is 95% meat.  I might try the canned EVO at some point tho...sounds like your baby loved it.
