Went NUTS For EVO 95% Canned!

OK, so I decided I was going to get some new varieties of canned foods to mix in with my Canidae kibble. So, I bought EVO 95% Venison and EVO 95% Rabbit. Well tonight I popped the lid to the Venison and my boy went NUTS!! He was whining, barking, jumping up and down, and even making some weird groans...he is such a vocal boy...typical of the Shepherds .

So, when I put the bowl down he DEVOURED it in less than 1 minute. I have to say I have NEVER seen my boy so excited to eat. He loves the Canidae canned and scarfs it up fast, but nothing like this. I am so excited because I have been dealing with a PICKY POO for 10 months now! It makes me so happy to see him enjoying his food.

I can't wait to try the rabbit...but for now I wanted to recommend EVO 95% canned if you want to entice your dog to eat, and its great for them too, 95% meat!! [sm=wink2.gif] Wonderful results. Now we will have to wait and see how his stools are...ahhhh...the joys of having a dog! [;)]

Roxie loves canned, too, but it usually gives her runny stools. [:'(]  I hate that ...

But I'm glad your boy went bonkers over it! [:D]  And it really is GREAT when you know how much they enjoy eating their good, isn't it?

We have a super picky/spoiled by table food lab/golden retriever mix and she goes crazy for the venison but especially the rabbit too.  She was enjoying the regular green can innova adult food, but the new 95% evo versions are by far her favorite.  Too bad that rabbit is $3/can!

WOW! $3.00 a can...I thought $1.99 was pricey. Where are you located?

Yeah, so I want to get all the varieties, but one store has only the beef...and then the other place I went yesturday only had the rabbit and venision. Why can't they just have them all? I e-mailed the company and told them they need to make a "variety" pack. In my opinion so should all the companies. Granted some people want to stick with one flavor for 24 cans, but others probably would like a "variety" pack of 24 canned flavors! [:D]

95% venison and 95% rabbit, those sound great! Glad your boy liked them.

I can never get Kaiser to eat...He'll eat a few bites and then leave. He finished his entire bowl in under 5 minutes with 95% venison, and then kept asking for more!

    That's wonderful! [:)]

Yeah, I popped the lid for the Venison and I was talking to my pup saying..."Mmmmm boy look what I've got for you...VENISON...yummy...almost completely MEAT and red meat at that...not duck and potato!"

He must have thought I was nuts and he was saying, "Quiet Mom and just give me whatever is in that can that smells so good!"

Sometimes I think I am the dog and he is the human! [sm=rofl.gif]

    Yikes [sm=eek.gif]

That amount would have made him grow way too quickly, out and up ways.I can just imagine the poops on 6 cups of innova a day  [:'(] How much are you feeding him now?

Today is the first day that we are actually cutting him back to 1.5 cup in the morning and 1.5 in the evening.
this morning he ate all the 1.5 like it was nothing.
but hes not fat at all , but he is big. those 3 pics of him on my last post are him just a few days ago, and today hes exactly 5.5 months.

I am located in South Dakota and the local pet store has the rabbit and duck versions for $2.99/can.  I just ordered some up for my Texas residence from the local feed store there and it was $37 for a 12 pack of the rabbit.  Even petfoddirect.com has rabbit for $32.99 for 12... so if you're getting the rabbit for $1.99 per 13.8oz can, that's a steal!  The funny thing is, from a pricing standpoint on the raw meat, the rabbit should cost the mfg much less than the other versions, yet they are charging a bunch... perhaps they know the dogs go nuts for it and are reaping the profits from that.

I tried to order the beef too, but they were sold out... so for right now it's venison and rabbit for dinner!

I guess we should expect such high prices because:

    1. It's Innova!
    2. It's 95% meat.

But still...$3.00 a can is nuts to me! [:@]

Oh well, I still think my pup eats better than I do! [:D] I haven't found a place yet that sells the 12 pack of cans. I have to buy them individually for now. I am hoping to find a place that has all the varieties, but that is proving to be a challenge! I can't wait to here back what they have to say about my "variety" pack idea! [:)]

If you don't mind my asking, where do you buy it at?  I live in the general vicinity and would love to try it for my allergy lab.

    Cathy-

No problem. I have been to 2 places so far that even have the EVO 95% canned. Most just have the regular EVO or Innova Adult canned.
