    Table food

How do I wein my dog off of table food because the first owner fed her table food. She is 4 months old. Do any one have some suggestions?

Not all table food is bad for dogs.  In fact, MY dogs eat homecooked every nite.  But, if you don't want him to have it, then just don't GIVE him any.  No need to wean him off it, just stop offering it.  Unlike my dogs (german shepherds) yours will NEVER be big enough to reach over and help herself to what she wants from the table!

but if i dont give her the table food she wont eat the dog food, she has been brought up on the table food and never ate dog food.

Why don't you just mix kibble and homecooked together? Thats what I (and many others here) do for our dogs.A small amount of table food is really healthy for a dog as long as it isn't chocolate, grapes, onions, or anything else that is poisonous to them. Your dog will be very unwilling to eat dog food after eating people food, so mixing is probably a good idea, plus its good for them. Tonight, my dog had her kibble mixed with salmon and mashed broccoli[:D]

She'll have to learn to eat it. like jettasmomma said you can mix some stuff in to her kibble. I add egg in the morning (sometimes cottage cheese), and for the afternoon she used to get raw (but wont eat it anymore)

So I mix a variety of things, sometimes a bit of meat baby food, cottage cheese, egg, beef bullion or chicken broth, a bit of cooked meat, some yogurt, though not all at the same time.

Put out a small amount of kibble, and give her 20 minutes to eat it. If she doesnt eat it pick it back up. A healthy dog wont starve itself and she'll learn to eat once shes hungry enough
