If you've never ordered TO before, please be aware that they have a reputation for having the worst customer service around. There is a member on this board who's order is lost right now. They don't answer or return phone calls or reply to e-mails from customers.
 
The 3.3 lb bags of Wilderness Elk are on sale because they are old white plastic bags, not the foil barrier bags that TO is known for. The bags do not have a date or production code stamped on them.
 
There has also been some discussion on this board in the last few days that TO's ingredient lists are inaccurate. The food you receive may not have the ingredients listed on the site, and it may not even have the ingredients listed on the bags it comes in. Since TO doesn't answer questions, there's no way to know for sure what is going on.
 
Not trying to talk you out of trying it, although a few of us that fed it have decided not to order anymore, just trying to let you know about the other aspects of it.
 
TO's ingredients look great, and a lot of people have fed it with good results, too bad there's not a great company standing behind it.

I have been feeding TO foods for the past 6 - 8 months and have nothing but praise for the food and in particular the Wild & Natural which is what I feed the most of rotating with the Ocean Blue, the Bison and the Wilderness Elk.  My spayed 5 year old beagle is no longer overweight; she is at a good weight, lean & muscular.  My 15 year old cairn terrier no long itches, scratches or smells.  All three of my dogs clean their bowls with gusto.
 
I order from TO's website and have always received my order promptly and with very reasonable shipping costs - with the exception of my last order.  I received an email response to my email inquiry into the status of my order notifying me that their stock of Wild & Natural was depleted and that their website had not been updated.  The balance of order was to ship the next day.  It did and I received promptly and was only charged for what I received.  This order included 3.3 # bags of the Bison and the Wilderness Elk that were on sale.  These bags were foil bags; they were not "old white plastic bags".  A couple of days after receipt of order, I actually received a phone call from a TO representative (maybe Roz?) who apologized  and advise the Wild & Natural would be available in a couple of weeks and asked me to reorder at that time.

Wow, I'm impressed. That's one of the only positive stories I've heard. Glad to hear it.
 
As far as the bags go, my order was not foil bags and some other people have mentioned not receiving foil bags. Some food was even shipped in plain silver bags with stickers slapped on. I assume that the parentheses to the side of the Wilderness Elk that say something about no UPC code means the other bags.

Are you sure ?? I'm a Timberwolf  distributor and 3.3lb bags don't come in the foil. These are new bags and only the 4lb, 16.5 lb and 33 lb come in those bags.  3.3lb bags are older stock an come in plastic ziplock top bags.

You may have ORDERED 3.3 lb bags but I'll bet they sent  4lb bags in their place. So far almost all of my 3.3lb bag orders have been replaced w/4lb foil bags. The only foods coming in 3.3lb bags at this time are Wilderness Elk and Serengeti Herbal Felid formulas.

I'm envious of your success with TO.  It's now been 11 days since my order (the site showed several dozen bags in stock) and I have received no reply to my email or to my phone message.  The dogs kibble runs out tommorrow, so I'll be heading to the feed store for something else.

Yeah, that happened to me on my Wild & Natural order. (love the foil bags, but really really like the ziploc tops too)

Just curious llancaster, when was your order? I check that site almost every day and it seems like the W & N has been out of stock of a lot longer than two weeks. Matter of fact I got the last one of any size they were showing in stock and that was probably in early February.

I have heard that theit customer service is bad, but I have ordered from them a few times and never had any issues.

Myorganicpets, I just went and checked my bags.  I ordered the 3.3# bags on sell - the Serengeti, the Dakota Bison and the Wilderness Elk.  The Serengeti I received is the 3.3#  and is in the ziplock top bag but the Wilderness Elk and The Dakota Bison are the 4# sizes.  I had not even noticed that they were the 4# bags.  I did ay the sell prices for them and assumed they were indeed the 3.3# bags.  When I couldn't get the Wild & Natural from TO direct, I simply called a distributor in Charlotte, NC (since I'm in NC) who shipped me out a bag the same day and I received it the next day.

My first TO order was ordered on Friday, I received it on Monday. The second I ordered on Fri and received it two weeks later on Wed.

I've e-mailed and called re the ingredient issues and haven't ever received a response.

i have now ordered twice from TO. maybe i've been lucky but the first time i ordered lamb and barley on sale 3.3 and they sent me a foil 4 pound bag promptly. This last time I ordered wilderness elk, black forest and 2 southwest chicken - all on sale. The w elk and the b forest arrived in 4 pound foil bags. the chicken was missing from the package. i emailed TO, i got a reply back with the tracking of the package i received. I explained that that package had only two bags in it. they next day i received a tracking number for the new package. A few bumps but no biggie. think they are a small company that is maybe a little in over their head but they've got good stuff and great prices. I think it's worth it!

That makes me even more wary of Timberwolf... they'll answer questions about stock and tracking, but not about their ingredients??

They aren't responding to my questions about my order, so don't assume they are replying pursuant to any criteria of subject matter.

Well.. let me add my two cents...... Three weeks ago.. I inquired of them about the food... I sent four emails... and four phone calls.. nobody has returned my call.. I feel the same way some of you do.... looks like great products... but obviouls terrible management.. I cant understand it.. Its actually dissapointing to me.. because so much care goes into the website to talk about ingredients and doing the right things  for your dogs according to the dogs roots...(wolves)... NOT ONE RETURN PHONE CALL.. OR EMAIL....
 
I WANTED SO BAD TO TRY THE PRODUCT.. BUT I DONT EVEN HAVE A GOOD TASTE IN MY MOUTH (PARDON THE PUN)... ANYMORE ABOUT THEM....
 
IM TRYING NATURES VARIETIES.. NEW.... "RAW INSTINCT.." SO FAR I LIKE IT... DOGS EAT SO MUCH LESS FOOD THAN BEFORE
