Freeze dried foods??

    Freeze dried foods??

Ok in my researching raw food diets I keep coming across freeze dried food.  These companies claim it's exactly the same as feeding raw medallion type things, you just add water and don't have to keep them frozen.  I can't help but think the freeze drying process would kill some nutrients, but maybe not...  has anyone else heard of this/used it at all?  I'm really curious...

I think Nature's Variety also has a freeze dried version of their raw medallions.

I don't know about the removal of nutrients, but I've used NV's freeze-dried medallions on road trips.

They're very easy, but you do have to make sure you leave time to let them soak up the water.  I found myself pounding them into bits and giving Roscoe soup 'cause we didn't have time to let them soak (had to get back on the road).  They're very expensive compared to doing it yourself or buying regular pre-made raw, though.
