more expensive? back to basics pork, canine cavier wildnerness, limited natural balance or cali natural kangaroo

Out of these what do you consider the most expensive for someone living in ontaro? its hard to compare prices when each bag size is never the same! And no store sells all 3!

ANyone here from ontario? Have any idea? HElp!

WHich would have the best chance for a dog with diguestive issues also? and be the most healthy u think?  ALL large bags of course? I have a big dog. We really have to be a millionair these days to own a large breed how depressing is that?

Hi; I don't live in Canada, so I don't know what you're paying for the foods you listed. I do have a dog with a sensitive stomach though. For a dog with digestive issues, generally, a low fat food with moderate fiber (3 to 5%) is best. Of the ones you listed, Natural Balance Limited ingredient diets may be the best since the different varieties are 10 to 12% fat, but they only average about 340 calories a cup, so you'll have to feed more than a higher calorie food. California Natural would be my next choice since it's 11% fat, and probably wouldn't cost as much to feed since it's 434 calories a cup. It is a little higher in fiber, 6.5%, but your dog may do okay with that. The reason for the higher fiber is because of the lentils in the ingredients. In my opinion, Back To Basics Pork and Canine Caviar have too much fat (18 and 20%). I looked at the food your dog is on now and see that it's 17% fat. What is the problem you're having; soft stool, gas, vomiting?

I'm aware of that; I visit sites like dog food advisor. I don't like Natural Balance because many of the formulas use potato protein to boost the protein, meaning they use less meat meal. However, I don't think the lamb and rice has artificial protein. California Natural Kangaroo is very carb heavy, and most of the protein comes from the legumes. Kangaroo and any meat has a high water content and when it's used instead of a meat meal, it loses much of its weight during processing, so there isn't much meat in the finished product.  I cannot feed high protein, high fat foods to Jessie, so I add baked turkey cutlets to her food daily. That way she gets the low fat diet she needs but also gets high quality protein. You need to listen to your dog; a high ranked food doesn't help your dog if he can't tolerate it.

I can't help with the actual price, but what I did was figure out how much each food costs per pound in whatever size bags you would buy.

another factor for me is kcals/cup as 30lbs of something that is 300kcals per cup doesn't go nearly as far as 30lbs of something 500kcals per cup
