    Another food question

What are your thoughts on canned food.

I have never fed it, I’ve always had the belief its not as healthy as dry.

I have research dry and raw and have done a raw diet yrs ago when I only has 1or 2 dogs and a lot more time.

I have always tried to feed the best food possible and tried to do my research.

I do a few supplements I am comfortable with.

I have so many food questions lately, It seems the best food is always changing in people’s opinion. I have checked out several suggested sites.

I have always been confident in the past. But with 2 dogs passing in about a year of each other, Its got me wondering if there is not more I could should be doing.

There is a lot I could be doing but I am focusing on food in these post.

For years everyone said kibble it the way to go, and I did.  Then I discovered that is not so, although it is STILL what my vet recommends.  Eating kibble is like us eating graham crackers.  Those stick to your teeth!  And help cause cavities.

In the wild, a dog eats prey, which is a mix of soft and hard, dry and wet.  They don't eat dried rabbit, lol!  So my thinking on this is, the closer to natural, the better.

I keep cans on hand and sometimes use them.  I also add chicken broth, soup liquid if I made soup for us, something so I feel they are getting enough moisture.  Then I give sliced apple or sweet potato to help clean their teeth after the kibble.

    Thank you

I also checked out the website you posted in my other post and I did find one without poultry, but never heard of it.

    do some web research. Smile

I mix canned and dry when I feed kibble. Or I add water/ soup broth. I don't feed kibble often any more (all raw diet) but I still use canned food for stuffing the puzzle toys.
