Manufactured in TX, Merrick recalls Jr Texas Taffy (which is beef jerky) due to Salmonella scare.

This is why I wouldn't touch anything withe name Merrick on it. Way, way to many QC issues.

This is very unfortunate.
They had such a good reputation and Veronica loves some of their products, except now I'm afraid to buy them.

It's funny that so many people have this opinion of Merrick. I hadn't realized it. I have seen the QC issues they have and every year I take all my issues and a lot products to the Backer Show (a really cool pet trade show) and they always seem concerned, but I did wonder about them. I thought it was just that fact that I handle so much more of the product than your average dog owner. Guess not.
