    Do you use rawhides?

At work I hear many people who use them and many who will never use them. I buy  rawhides (pressed and regular), cowhooves, bully stix and they eat raw bones.

What kind of chews do you prefer and what do you avoid?

Caleb can't have beef, so he gets sting ray tails, antlers, pig snouts and lambs ears.

We'll get the pressed rawhides. They're one of the few longer lasting chews.  In addition, we give raw, meaty bones, bully sticks, etc.

Sting ray tails!? Thats very exotic, good job  on finding chews he can have. Mine are eating hooves I filled with peanut butter and froze at the moment.

Can you post a site that has a pic of the tails?

I buy Bully sticks and pressed rawhides. Anubis is the only one that doesnt get the pressed rawhide because he will swallow a big piece whole. The others are very good at chewing theirs. Rueben actually wont eat a pressed rawhide after it gets all soggy. Dont know why but he just wont.

I dont feed pig ears or anything like that because Im a big chicken and read too much on the internet! If something bad is gonna happen it's gonna happen to me.

Grab- I love the pressed rawhides because of that fact too and the braided bullystix.

Kle-I occasinally use pig ears but not often cause they are so greasy, there are sow ears tho that are cooked different and arent so greasy that my guys do great on. Ive seen them at most pet stores.

I don't do anything pork, because it upsets Jewel's tummy. Everything else is fair game, though. They're good, careful chewers, and not possessive, so I don't worry about bolting. When Emma was here, we didn't do rawhides, because she always choked on them and swallowed too big peices. Nobody else does that, so there's vanilla, double thick rawhide chips all over the house. It's awesome, when their faces smell all vanilla-y!

Oooo! You love that vanilla scent too?? I have a big bag of vanilla chews and a bag for my  SS. I dont mind the peanut butter but the vanilla is so yummy smelling.

I dont have any dogs with sensitivites so I dont have to worrry but I admire you guys figured out thier  issues and work around them. many dont put in that kind of effort

The vanilla is the BEST!!! Especially since two of my dogs have fuzzy faces. Much, much better than the beef basting or chicken. Yuck!!

I've never had a problem with any of my dogs eating rawhides so yeah, they get rawhides. I just bought some antlers today and abbies going crazy over them. She's usually not that big of a chewer so this is nice. I will also get them cow cheecks every now and again. Plus rmbs sometimes

Im lucky enough to have my 2 boys prefer vanilla over beef or hickory too :)

How do you get cow cheeks? butcher? In GA the butcher would give up his "garbage". In  MI  the ones I talked to said they cant.

Mine get pig ears (made fresh by the farm I buy my horse feed from *gag*) and cow hooves... and of course, their most absolute favorite of all time, hoof trimmings from when the horses feet get trimmed every couple of months.

I've tried rawhides but they don't really seem to like them... I guess they're spoiled.

LoL I forgot about the trimmings. When I lived at my grams I used to go out and collect those and my dogs loved them too. I probably should ask my friend and my gram to save me the trimmings. Cheap and natural. Thanks for reminding me.
