That's great! And honestly probably the best scenario. There's a LOT of SchH people who are real purist and not only don't understand why anyone would ever do anything BUT SchH but become very discouraging. My TD was this way at first, but with good reason, because a lot of people don't understand that training for SchH is a very "complete" picture when done correctly, it is not easy to train SchH and do agility or rally or any other thing unless you really understand what is going on and what's best for your dog. I've been working with my TD for over a year, basically as long as my dog has done SchH and he just said to me last Sunday that he's comfortable enough with me doing agility and other things "on the side". When I train agility, dock diving, obedience, etc I use the same concepts and methods as SchH training, just adapted for a different command/skill being taught. For some people this is not easy, or they do not see the necessity. We've had multiple people leave our club because they try to belong to as many clubs as possible and do as much training as possible but end up very frustrated with a dog that is confused and sometimes shutting down on the SchH field. However if your goal is simply attaining a BH and possibly an OB1, then there's really no need to structure your dog's life around SchH, so if you've found someone that will train with you doing both then you can avoid getting the cold shoulder from other people and clubs.
