So Excited! Darby and I are starting agility

In 3 weeks we start a beginner class!!  Woohoo!  I am so happy to be getting back into a dog sport again!

We'll be taking a class with Dee Hutton. i've heard/read good things about her.  Starting Darbs in beginner, she knows jumps and tunnel but no contacts.  And it will be for fun. Doubt it will lead to any competing.  Hopefully she'll take to it and like it.

I'll update once we get started! I can't wait!

I can't wait to  get a dog that I can play at agility with. I hope you have lots of fun, and post some pictures!

I am actually not sure if she'll be a dog that loves agility or not. We just went out and practiced with our 4 jumps and a tunnel and she did pretty well.  Might be better in an actual class that she can build some confidence on the contacts and we can learn to work together.

This was 'just' a conformation dog so she has minimal training. It's interesting how I thought I loved conformation and showing and breeding and found out the actual opposite was true.

Meantime I'm also searching for the right puppy to add to the family, dh says not until next year. :(

ETA. I want to say it was weird working with Darby... Gobie and I knew each others' ins and outs and he knew exactly how to read me and what I wanted.  Miss that naughty little minpin!

I was shocked to find that I *do* enjoy conformation, but it's kind of annoying, too. I'll never do *just* conformation, but my next puppy should be able to finish. Finish is all I'm really interested in. I won't likely show enough to rank.

Super great to hear! I hope you and Darby have a blast! Agility is by far the most fun sport I've taken part in so far.

Hooray! Me and Erik start agility this week. We did a relationship course in preparation a few months back. I've never done any kind of formal dog-related activity before, so I have a lot to learn as well. But Erik is a smart, driven dog and he's dead easy to teach, so at least I've got a good dog to help me. Wink
