On Wednesday 3/24 I will be taking off for AKC Agility Nationals with Belle!!! I am getting so excited!!! It is going to be so much fun.
I know I have not posted too much here lately, not enough hours in the day it seems. Belle had a trial this past weekend in OH, as her final prep competition. It was held were Nationals were held 4 years ago. She did great. She ran 4 clean runs, had time faults in one (she had to stop and smell the horse poop) but she Q'd in all her other runs and got better and better with each run. She actually QQ on Sunday which gives her 11 QQ's toward her PAX.
Yesterday I printed off all the information from the AKC site. There are 14 pages for the Saturday run list. There are over 900 dogs total, over 700 competing at the 20" height (Belle's height) and of all these dogs 75 are from the preferred division with 17 at 20". This is the first year preferred dogs get to go to Nationals.
Friday is the state team competition, we will be representing MI. Then Saturday she has her jumpers and standard runs, on Sunday she runs in the "hybrid" class (combo jumpers and standard??) IF we qualify we stick around for the finals. Not expecting to, but sure would like one ribbon. We will see. In any case it will be a fabulous experience.
