large breed puppy - suspected pano - what to feed?

This is for someone on another board who has a 3 old BMD who may have pano and may have the beginnings of other joint issues.  She is wondering what kibble would be best - I thought that large breed pups need moderate protein levels and should not be on grain free.  Is that right?

If so what would you recommend?

    thanks in advance

I wouldn't feed a large breed puppy a grain free diet.  The calcium levels are, imo, too high for a growing pup.

My personal preference would be Innova Large Breed Puppy.  Right now, we are using Precise Plus Large Breed Puppy.  Even though Cher is having an issue with pano, I am happy with how she is doing.  She growing off nice & slowly, which is what I want.

I used California Natural LID (Lamb and Rice) with Nikon, mainly because that's what my other dogs eat/ate.  He was weaned to Nature's Variety Prairie kibble but only on this for a few weeks since I switched him to my kibble right away.  He's always had a great coat and never had pano.  He's grown nice and slow.  Most of the other males in our club are much taller and larger, even the younger ones.  He also never went through the gangly, leggy stage.

thanks ladies - Lies I just looked up the Ca natural and the calcium is 2x the phosphorus so I won't recommend that to her since my understanding is that calcium shouldn't be too high in an XL pup.  Her dog will likely be 110-120 I would think or more fully grown so into the giant breed size

I saw that Monica Segal has a booklet for BMD's so may be that will help her
