You are absolutely right. You couldn't feed a comparable formula (ie, lamb and rice with all the goodies), at Eagle Pack's price, homecooking, unless you lived near me and purchased culls at $1.25 to $0.75 a pound of ground meat. I don't need all my culls anymore as the other dogs can eat chicken/turkey for a lot less than that.
Some of the foods that can't afford their own food plant time-share,
for lack of a better word, at Solid Gold facilities and have had QC
issues. Such as TOTW
Actually TOTW is just plain owned outright by Diamond, I'm pretty sure. Like Chicken Soup. Diamond has the odd problem here and there but it's never affected anything but their "cheapo" lines. There's been a lot of water under the bridge since their aflatoxin disaster.
But given my druthers I'd go with EP every time. They're good folks. My kitties eat EP - I messed around with the super premium grain frees but I've settled on EP again. They eat two meals of raw and one of EP so I'm not hugely concerned about the grain.
