vid - feeding kibble (ron2)

You are absolutely right.  You couldn't feed a comparable formula (ie, lamb and rice with all the goodies), at Eagle Pack's price, homecooking, unless you lived near me and purchased culls at $1.25 to $0.75 a pound of ground meat.  I don't need all my culls anymore as the other dogs can eat chicken/turkey for a lot less than that.  Crying

Some of the foods that can't afford their own food plant time-share, for lack of a better word, at Solid Gold facilities and have had QC issues. Such as TOTW

Actually TOTW is just plain owned outright by Diamond, I'm pretty sure.  Like Chicken Soup.  Diamond has the odd problem here and there but it's never affected anything but their "cheapo" lines.  There's been a lot of water under the bridge since their aflatoxin disaster.

But given my druthers I'd go with EP every time.  They're good folks.  My kitties eat EP - I messed around with the super premium grain frees but I've settled on EP again.  They eat two meals of raw and one of EP so I'm not hugely concerned about the grain.

    Words of wisdom, as usual.

Haha, Shadow reminds me of this dog my aunty used to have. Every mealtime she would collect all her tennis balls from all around the yard and put them in her bowl while she ate. If one fell out, she'd put it back in again. As a kid I used to think this was totally bizarre and would take them out for her, only to have my aunty tell me she likes it that way and the dog would put them all back in again. When she was done she'd take them all and put them on her bed and sleep with them. She habitually had 3-5 balls in the bowl/bed.

Kivi and Penny are boring when they eat. Penny likes to eat outside, but Kivi likes to eat inside. Preferably on the couch. Indifferent  Trust me, smelly bones he has quietly dug up and snuck into the lounge room do not go down well. Just then he snuck in with some kangaroo tail and Penny seems to think it's her kangaroo and was standing in the lounge room door barking at him, which of course meant he could not safely get out of the lounge room. I had to escort him past little miss police lady. She then followed him outside and barked at him there. KT wasn't willing to give up the bone (hallelujah, he has grown a backbone) and so I had to bring Penny in and shut him out. Finally, peace.

What's funny is that he will drop it in there to eat and then, after a while, it will be in his way and he will nose it around. Other times, he will pick out and set it aside, other times I pick it out and set it aside. I used to wonder if he had to chase it and bring it back because it was like hunting for dinner and bringing it back to the "den." I don't know but it is funny how many dogs do this.
