Sweet potato or regular potato?

That's good to hear, Becca. Once she settles into looking good, I'll do that. I'd much rather feed her fresh corn and fresh by product, but I was just missing something. I'd started giving her extra carbs, but it just wasn't right, for whatever reason. She may be super sensitive to imbalances. I know that Emma is certainly not, LOL. She was raised by me, learning to prepare a proper dog diet. She's been through it ALL!

I had to double my super active vigorously competing dog's intake of sweet potatoes to keep him from looking like an abuse case this summer. If that hadn't worked I was going to pick up some Bil-Jac. Dogs who work hard need carbs; couch potato dogs don't. I cut slices of sweet potato and wrap a piece of meat around it and then pop into the dehydrator. Feed the dog a couple of them before and after each run.

Wow, that sounds awesome.  I'll have to try that.  No dehydrator but the oven works better for the volume of treats I do anyway.  LOL!  Poor little Ted is going out six or seven times a day now - with Patrick away training this month and Ben fully retired, it's all Ted all the time here.  That sounds like just the ticket - he's so tired he doesn't want to bother with frozen treats.  I baked him a batch of flax/barley/kidney brownies and I'm going to do something with the pancreas I hope Karen will be able to bring tomorrow.
