Odd kibble in Eagle Pack?

I like bananas. They have potassium, which helps me from getting dehydrated.
I was also going to point out earlier that my dog will eat a cracker without provocation or trickery. He just likes it. Danged ole' grain eater.

That's like Willow, she loves broccoli, dairy  products and sweets.   I might have to do a test to see if she goes for milk or roast beef.  I'm betting the milk will win.  She's a Dairy Twirl O' Vore.

I had read once that Bernese Mountain Dogs were found primarily on dairy farms and that they had adapted to some dairy product and vegetables in their diet.

However, some people don't think dogs should eat grains. They would rather have their dogs eat vegetables and fruits, which are also high in carbs, sugars, and other nutrients. So, it's still a matter of perspective.

Exactly- even raw feeders disagree. Some include grains, others think it's purely evil and cringe over the thought of their dog getting ahold of a biscuit.
Some people like kibble with grain, others are swearing by Evo.  You can't please 100% of people no matter what subject it's on.

Just like in my Wellness and Flint River Ranch threads, someone has a beef with something, ya know.

Different folks, different strokes. Feed what works.

I think that the MAIN objection to grains comes with products that USE grain to replace MEAT as a protein source.

Yep, fruits and veggies have carbs too.  The trick is to combine them in such a way that the dog isn't getting amped up on the sugars...for example, kale with the sweet potatoes....one above the ground veggie for every below the ground veggie, cuz typically, the ones that grow BELOW the ground are higher carb...with the exception of peas and corn.  JUST LIKE YOU DO FOR YOUR OWN DIET.

Well, I'm not sure I understand why if they don't "need" veggies at all per se, that they need to be "varied" when they are fed.  It doesn't make sense to me.

Well, Lori, who knows for CERTAIN that they don't?  And BTW, I feel the same way about grains in small amounts.  But gosh, veggies are just chock full of vitamins, minerals, antioxidents, and if you process them so that a dogs body CAN use them, well, I believe that they absolutely benefit from all that good stuff.

True. Unless the dog has kidney issues, I think their food should be meat based or meat first.
