I just wish she'd buy her dogs from more reputable sources! Ask the Golden community about the "breeder" of her Goldens...*sigh*.

I felt really sorry for the chi - poor little thing looked scared and cold.

Well it did,,,but I think thats a Chi thing....    everyone that comes to our clinic is the same,,,as is Briana,,my sons GFs dog.

I noticed when she was picking up the Golden puppies at the breeder that they were very obviously backyard bred. Edited to add one thing that really bugs me is that the dogs are NOT white; they're a very light cream color and there's a big difference!

I know that was the first thing I thought too, was "there are no such things as 'white' Golden Retrievers!"

[color=#993366]I was pleasantly surprised to see that he recommend homecooked and canned foods!

The vet she uses( Dr. Goldstein) is a Holistic vet, and was featured in Dog FAncy last month. I was very surprised to see him on Oprah..and happy! I wish they would have told more about the grains that were tained and what to avoid in foods.

I thought it was a nicely done show. A good start to suck the average joe to the dark side hee hee. It was nice to see Dr. Goldstein on there too, I enjoy his and his brother's books. Wow is james beautiful, everytime I see him I almost can't take it :) The dane and chi were hilarious as well. I thought oprah was going to die when the dane smelled the chi's butt! Every chi I've every met shivers when they are nervous including Otto the chizilla [8D]

I think overall the show showed Oprah's and others love for dogs. Showed some loving training with the jumping dogs and food info. I think the avg. person got some good messages.

I guess gr8pyrz doesn't have to worry about someone giving smack down to home cooking!!

I haven't had a chance to watch it yet (saved on Tivo) but I'm SO GLAD to hear it was a positive message !!!  It's about time that the public wakes up from the dumbing down regarding our pets !!!  WooHoo.....

To make it all even better, my local news announced this morning that BARF will be on the 5pm segment !  I'm thrilled about that as well !  FINALLY we will see some mainstream coverage of more options !  Although I haven't done BARF for 7yrs due to lifestyle, I am in complete support of it and I'm sure the BARF communities are glad to see it coming to the surface at last !

I agree, but Nicolette Sheridan bought them for her, because Oprah fell in love w/ her puppy on the set of  Housewives.
I think Oprah was very uneducated about dogs until very recently,
when her Shophie, got kidney failure.
It surprises me about her, because she has such a thirst for knowledge and loves her dogs to  death. Well it's a start.
